Those are the correct "Wheel covers"  I had the same ones on my car.  A few questions.  At 21,000 miles I would think it would have the original exhaust.  Who put in the dual exhaust?  Why does it have a front lower spoiler? A well optioned base car though.

Camaro Dudes!!  Hey I just scored this steering box I believe is for a Z/28. Was just wondering what is the actual application? Does it fit Chevelle, Nova, Firbird ???
It turns stop to stop 3-1/4 turns. Actually about 3 and 3/16ths
When were they installed in relation to build dates?               So I can put fit's Nov. 30th 68' to Feb. 1st. 69' or ????

Numbers on Arm BOTTOM = NVD 1  J18      OCT. 1ST. 68 ????
Numbers on Arm TOP = 8770
Numbers on Adjuster PLATE = 5686555
Numbers on SIDE = 5691676 And just to the right of that is either a 106 or a 108. If I had to guess I would pick 108

Wanna throw it online for sale. Thought I would do a little market and information research first.

As always, Thanx for your time......Danny
P.S.
How do you insert pictures instead of having to click on a jpeg or ??...

Can you see the two letter code?

It looks as if gm_restoration_parts has pulled all his items off eBay.
http://shop.ebay.com/gm_restoration_parts/m.html?_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A1%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A1240&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_pgn=2
That's probably because folks are onto him.  He will pop back up with a new screen name and same old home made GM boxes and stickers.

So that would mean that the screws holding latches were also painted?  If yes, then I screwed up.  I removed each screw one at a time and cleaned them up.

Hard to say.  Do you have an ohm meter?  If yes, then empty tank as much as possible and pull it. This is a good time to look for your build sheet if you have not already found it.  Remove your sending unit.  This is a good time to check your fuel screen on the unit.  My screen was totally worn/rotted away.  I checked the sending unit by touching the leads of the meter to the connector on the unit and the other lead to the ground tab on the sending unit.  Move the sending unit's float from one extreme to the other.  It should go from zero to ninety Ohms.  If you get nothing or anything other than 0-90, then I would say the unit is bad.

Try this, in the trunk by the latch, you will see a connector with a brown wire. Disconnect the connector and turn on your ignition.  The gauge should go way past full.  If it does then gauge is good.  If not it may be a bad gauge, or bad grounds.  Bad grounds can cause you to pull your hair out.

With disconnected connector in the trunk, use an ohmmeter and check the resistance of the brown wire coming from the tank sending unit, to a good ground. Hopefully, it will measure between 0-90 ohms. If not, either the black wire screwed to ground at the tank is broke or not making a good ground, and or the sending unit is bad.

Also, check this company out.  http://www.fix-a-gauge.com/

This is a good cheap product to have in any Garage.

Well now that I know that the PoP, the bill of sale, the build sheet that I removed from the tank were all probably painstakingly reproduced by the original owner (so she says) in Long Beach is fake!!  Thanks Wayne for cluing me in on the paperwork scam.  Any body out there want to buy my cloned base coupe?  I'll be straight up front with you, the paper work probably isnt original.  Here's what my PoP says: Engine was built in Tonowanda, Jan 17 1969, DD engine. Rear axle is PA dated Jan 17 1969 at Chevy gear and axle. Vehicle was built in Feb 1969, Tranny built in Jan 9 1969, N40,J50,U63, 552 , and C60. :'(
