Originality / Re: Spatter Paint
« on: February 09, 2008, 06:14:39 AM »
When I had my 69 trunk sprayed with Larrys paint, we tried to use HVLP paint gun but it kept plugging up the tip. We had to switch to a shotz gun. I can't remember what pressure we used. The shotz gun gave it a more original looking pattern then the paint gun did.

Yes, the part number is 6476736, stamped 1:.777, 6476736. This speedo adapter is extremely hard to find. I have only seen two for sale on Ebay and both had sold for more than $700.00.

The main wiring harness goes in front of the steering support rods.

Originality / Re: How do members stand on dealer installed undercoating?

On the front inner wheelwells, did the factory spray the undercoating on the front wheelhouses before they were assembled to the front fenders, or after the complete front clip was installed on the body ?

Originality / lock nut for the shifter ball
« on: November 15, 2006, 09:53:51 PM »
Did the 69 4 speed shift lever use a lock nut on the shifter ball ? There is no lock nut shown in the AIM or my 67-70 GM camaro parts book. I don't recall  seeing one on any original cars I have looked at over the past years.

Originality / Re: 69 gas cap
« on: October 26, 2006, 09:31:36 PM »
There was one on Ebay Item# 14003493469 that claimed to be a original 69 gas cap. This one is completely round with out the ears on it, the VENTED lettering is raised instead of been stamped. Would this be the assembly line gas cap ?

Dose anyone know if the original gas cap for the 69 is the same as the GM replacement gas cap ? The AIM shows the gas cap as # 3843698 and the replacement gas cap number is a # 3931449.

There is a original 69 posi tag on Ebay right now, item # 160016105260, this is the same tag I have.

That tag is incorrect for a 68-69, the correct tag should say (USE POSITRACTION DIFF LUBRICATION ONLY)  The white letters are silk screened on and not cut in to the plastic tag. The hole size is 3/4 inch. Ricks Camaro sells a repo of this tag but the letter fonts are not same as compared to a original tag.

All the B/B 4 speed cars used the 1 piece clutch rod with swivel, the S/B 4 speed cars used a 2 piece clutch rod, this is shown in my 67-70 Camaro GM parts book.
