Is this same information applicable to 1968 as well?

It says the console and tach were added. Didn't they all have them by 07A? If a console where is the clock?

They only polished the ends. Then plated the whole pipie since you ca't dip only what you want. Probably cheaper to manufacture than welding a tipn

........I'm in the market for a 1969 Z28 and have researched and looked for cars all over the states. ........Thank, Keith
I would recommend verifying any car you want to buy here or at Team Camaro. There is quite a knowledge base developed over the years on fake cars. Don't get caught. JMHO.

Restoration / Re: Side Glass Weatherstrip Channel Fasteners.

Steve, the pic you show is close, but not original. The original was a self-drilling screw. The head had a wide washer head, but the phillips screw had a slightly raised head the size of a normal screw head

Joe, I have a NOM car too. If the VIN is not stamped on the block then it really doesn't matter much what the date is. In my book the 4/21 block is as correct as any other out there. I would be more concerened about the condition of the block. I also boght date correct alt, dist etc. for my block. JMHO.

The 302 used the 1108367 starter, so maybe that "307" is a typo and should read "302"?

Not sure really. Just a guess...

Ed

Correct for 307 as well. as 302.

So 5000 or 6000 over the last VIN listed for February on a 2D would not be unlikely?

My 02D is 5947 past the last recorded VIN. I have a March diff. They must have been waiting for 3.73 posi rear ends.

Originality / Re: Paint under Cowl Pannel - color Z11
« on: December 06, 2010, 12:14:00 AM »
Thanks William.  I'll have everything under the cowl painted orange so all you can see is orange when you look through the grill with the exception of the wiper arms.   Just out of curiosity, is this the same for all cars with stripes?  Example: Z28 with white stripes and body color lemans blue would be all white when you look through the cowl grill?

Just my color combination. White on top of the cowl. I read that down in the wiper arm recess was supposed to be painted black, but many were not.  I did mine black. This may only apply to Z/28 since that is what Mark was responding to
