The loose body tag seen in the photos could not belong with that VIN; latest Norwood 12A VIN is approximately N559xxx.

If you're looking for trouble, this is it.

From the ad:

"ALL OF THE NUMBERS ON ENGINE BLOCK,TRIM TAG,AND VIN NUMBERS AND THE ORIGINAL PROTECTOR PLATE WILL VERIFY MY STATEMENT"

Nope. POP is from a different car, 124379L503860.

From the ad:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Pro Touring

That's a 6-cylinder VIN. Could have been an RS. Nice resto-mod build so doesn't matter much.

Presented as an L78 SS

From the ad:

"...this is a ready to enjoy today show and go car with no disappointments."

The X44 tag will become a disappointment.

VIN not listed, would be N695xxx-N698xxx.

From the ad:

"...factory X22 D80 RS/SS car..."

Nit-picking, that's a 67-68 repro N34 wheel and trunk lid is not OE.

Too bad. Asking price is $58,900, worth most of that even as a clone.

The DZ pad stamp in the photo does not compare with other March 12 DZ block stampings. The latest known 386 casting usage is mid-January. A March 12 engine would have used a 618 casting.

The car appears to be a real Z/28, originally Fathom Green.

From the ad:

"I have a correct rebuilt DZ302 engine, carb, air cleaner, and transmission that will come with the car to bring it back to a correct z28."

The DZ pad stamp in the photo does not compare with other Dec 1968 stampings. The car appears to be a real Z/28.

Decoding/Numbers / Caveat Emptor...wrong VIN tag?

124879N537164...not a 1969 Camaro VIN

No pic of the VIN tag so we have to assume they meant 123379N537164 or 124379N537164. If correct, the car was final-assembled on or about November 6, 1968. It would have had a 1st design body tag with a date of 11A. However the car has the 2nd design body tag with a date of 09E, 5th week September 1969.

One or both tags may not be original to the car.
