Sorry I couldn't remember upper or lower hole but this should show itself. The 69 I just did had headers so I took off the header and had plenty of room and did work from below. If you got stock exhaust I think it will be a lot harder and probable have to do it from above (I could be wrong). GOOD LUCK and let me know how it works out.

I just had to replace a leaking one on a 69 with a 427, the hole is to the outside of the head (This is still the backside of head) toward power brake booster and the bracket mounts like an upside down "L" when looking from side and is straight across. The steel copper plated line has to be bent (as it comes straight) to provide Z-bar clearence and to line up with bracket. My bend looked like an elongated "S" (going from block adaptor to bracket on head). The bracket is where the junction is mounted and the plastic oil lin from gauge mounts to top of junction, the steel cooper plated line meets junction from bottom. Sorry there is no way to get a camera in their to take a pic (Big Block=no room). Hope this helped.

Restoration / Re: Air cleaners
« on: May 24, 2006, 01:39:00 AM »
Your air cleaner is round with a single snorkle pointing out toward the driver side of car with the chrome lid. Yes the 327/275hp used the same air cleaner except black lid not chrome. Also their are two types of air cleaners one for CAC emissions (RPO K19) it has two tubes comming out the bottom of the base. The other more common Air cleaner is  the standard set up with with a sealed base (no tubes). Get a 67 assembly manual and check out page 276 (UPC L30 sheet A3) for the standard air cleaner and page 258 (UPC K19 sheet A10) for the emissions one.

Restoration / Re: Quarter window chrome
« on: May 19, 2006, 04:14:43 AM »
I just did a 69 Yenko clone for a guy and the repo quarter window chrome didn't fit the new glass he bought (not the right curveture). I sent out his originals and had them chromed and they had the same curveture as the glass and fitted perfect. As for the quarter window seals I purchased 3 different sets for my 67 and by far the best are the ones from Classic Industries (#K664 $29.95 on Page 345 of 2006 catalog) they had small interlocking seperate steel reinforcements just like original allowing you to bend the seal to shape, the others had a solid steel reinforcement that was straight up and down (no curve) and when you put the door glass up the top and bottom would be hitting the door glass and the center would not seal because of this. And when you in stall the Classic's they went right into the  quarter window chrome , no fighting.

Originality / Re: What is the color of the door jamb strikers?
« on: February 04, 2006, 06:14:18 AM »
67 strikers and latches and screws are unpainted so is the trunk latch mounted to the lid (is the trunk lock painted with splatter paint? anyone know?) 68 and 69 this was changed, and it was all installed and painted to speed up production. Is this correct JohnZ? This is how I was lead to believe it happened. Sincerely Brian

« on: January 28, 2006, 05:29:17 PM »
Early 67's didn't have the seat belt clips on the console's and didn't have the outside belt retractors. I don't know when the change occured maybe some one with all the CRG data will chime in. By the way my car is a 11E date and doesn't have the above mentioned items. BrianK

Restoration / Tach restorations who does them?
« on: January 17, 2006, 03:41:29 AM »
Okay I have an extra 67 tach I bought at a swap meet 10 years ago, and left it in the pool building. It needs the face resilk screened and gone over, can anyone recommended a company? I sent it to auto instuments.com back in october and after 6 phone calls and over 3 months, in which every time I called they had to see if they had it. I told them to send it back to me, now looking for a good company. Sincerely Brian

General Discussion / Re: what year is ur camaro??
« on: January 17, 2006, 02:40:21 AM »
I got a 67 rs/ss 350 Camaro and a 66 roadster vette. Would like to get a 67 Camaro convertible and make a pacecar clone for a driver.
