???Is there anyway to tell if an engine is a 302,307,327 or 350 from the outside appearances? Or is it just by casting numbers and pad stampings?

General Discussion / Re: Was the 1967 camaro a disappointment?

The only thing disappointing to me about the 67 Camaro was I did not buy one sooner!!!!!!! I've owned in my life time a 68 AMX 390 4 spd, quick as all heck, which I put on blocks when I went in the service sold it and bought my only house with. A 72 442 Olds, nice but nothing special and 72 GTO Judge. For pure driving fun in my opinion my 67 Camaro is the most enjoyable. Love to get it out on the open road and just drive. Nothing fancy, nothing special just a heck of a lot of fun to drive. Quick response and it has enough horses to satisfy my needs.

General Discussion / casting numbers

This question may have been answered before. What is the reason for having different casting numbers for the same size engine in the same year? Different casting factories, different metal values, different applications? ???

Jonhz:

What type of interference issue are you referring to? ??? Anything that can be addressed or just not worth the effort or expense to adapt? ???

thanks

Can anyone tell me the advantage if any of having what I think is called "ram style" exhaust manifolds versus the regular style exhaust mainifold? I have a pair that I was going to put on my 67 350. I have seen written that the Ram style is consider similar to  headers but less expensive. Any thoughts out there in CRG land?????????

Thanks

To all those who worked so hard on making the CRG what it is today, I thank you. You have set the standard for what forums and help groups should and can be!!!!!!!!!!! No where else on the internet that I can find, is there a group of people that has put so much time and effort into making CRG the best of the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the reply J.R.

No I haven't taken the door panels off yet and I haven't checked the regulators but it sounds like I will be doing that soon. Don't mind spending the time doing it, keeps me out of trouble. at least that's what the wife says. I was guessing in is a combination of both the glass and the door that need adjusting.

Thanks for the info!

Maintenance / Door and window weather stripping
« on: October 17, 2005, 10:29:49 PM »
Greetings all CRG members!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me how much wind noise is considered normal on the door glass and jambs of a 67 Camaro? At around 70 mph the wind noise in my 67 is so bad you can't hear yourself think!!!!!!! I replaced the weatherstripping awhile ago but it is almost like there is nothing there. On the drivers side especially, where the front door glass meets the rear quarter glass stripping, the glass only overlaps the weather stripping by about quarter of an inch. Everything appears to be installed correctly. Could the door need to be adjusted up, down back or forth to help correct this problem or is this something I have to deal with?

And the new format is awesome!!!!!!!!! Nice job people!!!!!!!!!
