 ??? CRG HELP!!!!!!!!!!
I have a problem that needs your help!!!!!!!!! I am looking at purchasing a powerglide that is supposed to be a 67. Problem is this, no where on the tranny pan can we find any numbers what so ever. I did find these numbers on the inside of the bell housing where  the Torque conmverter is placed. B 7 4. Anyone have a clue what these numbers mean??? Is it odd  not to find any numbers at all on the tranny pan? maybe this tranny had it's pan replaced, but would there not be some type of Identification for this? We scrubbed the whole pan clean and could not find anything.  :o

???Questions CRG, I have an opportunity to purchase a correct casting number block for my 67 camaro.
Here is my question, if the build date for the block is H-66 (August 66) and my car build date is C-7, March of 67. Is the block correct for the car in regards to being consider matching number? Or is there a window of time that should be followed to be consider matching number but not original?

Thanks !!!!!! dab67

???Is there anyway to tell if an engine is a 302,307,327 or 350 from the outside appearances? Or is it just by casting numbers and pad stampings?

General Discussion / casting numbers

This question may have been answered before. What is the reason for having different casting numbers for the same size engine in the same year? Different casting factories, different metal values, different applications? ???

General Discussion / Ram style exhaust manifolds
« on: October 25, 2005, 10:43:32 AM »
Can anyone tell me the advantage if any of having what I think is called "ram style" exhaust manifolds versus the regular style exhaust mainifold? I have a pair that I was going to put on my 67 350. I have seen written that the Ram style is consider similar to  headers but less expensive. Any thoughts out there in CRG land?????????

Thanks

Maintenance / Door and window weather stripping
« on: October 17, 2005, 10:29:49 PM »
Greetings all CRG members!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me how much wind noise is considered normal on the door glass and jambs of a 67 Camaro? At around 70 mph the wind noise in my 67 is so bad you can't hear yourself think!!!!!!! I replaced the weatherstripping awhile ago but it is almost like there is nothing there. On the drivers side especially, where the front door glass meets the rear quarter glass stripping, the glass only overlaps the weather stripping by about quarter of an inch. Everything appears to be installed correctly. Could the door need to be adjusted up, down back or forth to help correct this problem or is this something I have to deal with?

And the new format is awesome!!!!!!!!! Nice job people!!!!!!!!!
