It doesn't, unfortunately, look like your going to get much more on this.  John has pretty much put the brochure thing to rest.  All I can tell you is that being the original owner of a 68 SS that came with, and still on it, the wheel covers (we have been calling them hub caps but....) are as you described in your #3: only single inner ring painted argent silver.  Besides, how much better it can get than an original owner with original equipment providing you with info ..... no relying on memory or what a previous owner says was on the car when they bought it.  If your still in doubt for some reason and you can think of something that I can look at on the covers or whatever then let me know and I'll have a try at it for you.

Rochester 4MV Carb with Part numbers: Auto ='s 7028218 and Man Trans ='s 7028217.  Also, hopefully not to confuse you but to inform only, I believe that VERY early in the 68 production year some 325 hp cars COULD have received 7016817 with automatic trans equiped vehicles.

Interesting.  Mine is an early June Nor car and I assume the show room car was as well (Nor I mean) with its build date somewhere (best guess  ) around a month before the end of the second week of May in 68 (when I ordered my car).  I wonder, is the brochure an early version for the 68 year?

Can you be more specific about the carb you are interested in?  Please clarify what carb you are talking about by part number or list number or application.  The 396 engines had two different carbs for 1968.  The list 4053 (396/375) had bronze filters in the fuel inlets for instance.  Many owners removed them as constant replacement of these filters over time resulted in stripping the threads of the fuel bowls and so folks put in an inline filter.

I'm the original owner of my car.  It is a 68 L78 SS/RS with the Custom Interor package (unrestored/original).  The hup caps that came on the car (and still on it)were your #3.  While I am not in a position to say that no other Camaro ever had a different cap with this combination package, I have seen at least one other car with the same ones as mine.  I vividly remember this other car because it was in the show room (sold) when I was ordering my car and it was almost exactly like what I was going to order and I could hardly take my eyes off of it......anyway, it had the same caps as mine.

I agree with what Festival provided you with one exception.  I believe 6416712 was the 1st design (early) for all 67 327 and 350's and not 6416148.  Maybe Ed can see what his P&A has for you.

I think the original equipment starter for your car had part number 1107365 and was stamped with either 1107365 or 1107388.  In January of 1970 the part was superceeded with 1108418 and went then to 1108400 in March of 1970..  Hope that helps you out.

You are correct but the question was the underside of the car. I've seen lots of unrestored Norwood cars and the underbody is 30 degree black applied way upstream, this was similar to the firewall spray but he latter was hand applied and usually was a bit on the grey side of black for some reason. John Z did a great list of the various finishes and the production processes in the plant for how and when paint was applied on TeamCamaro a year or so ago. Worth the serach and read.

Your part number was used on 67-68 Camaro 396's.  Was superceeded with 3945789 in November 1968.
