Tag on my 69Z Garnet red white stripes

Built a week after mine at the same plant. Do you have the original wheels on your car? If so could you tell me if they have the  "AD" or "YH" stamping.

I am confused. I called JE and was sent to tech where I inquired about piston part #123567. Specifically ring width, the gentleman I spoke with claimed the top rings were 1/16", weren't the original pistons 5/64"? Is he misinformed? Or am I mistaken on original width?

« on: April 11, 2016, 02:21:58 PM »
I was looking at rebuilding a ten bolt rear end, and didn't seem to come up with any suppliers for posi friction plates etc. Anyone know where to buy them?

General Discussion / 1969 Big Block Motor Mount Brackets?
« on: March 10, 2016, 10:38:10 PM »
I have a set of motor mount frame brackets that I bought from GM years ago. One has part #3980941 stamped in it and it measures 1 7/8" to the center line of the mount bolt when laid flat on the bench. The other one is not stamped clearly so I can not read the part # it measures 1 3/8" to the bolt center when flat on the bench. I bought these as a pair and was wondering if anyone could verify these measurements.

Decoding/Numbers / 6485891 Air Cleaner Applications
« on: March 25, 2015, 02:43:38 PM »
I have a cowl induction air cleaner assy that I purchased in the 70's part number 6485891. My part book is missing the page that lists it's applications. Would someone with a complete part book look it up please? I believe it is 69 Camaro and some years of Chevelle models.

01 9V is likely January of 1969, Flint - based on the casting date of January 17, 1969.

What is the casting number?3956618

I have a 1969 302 that I acquired in 1975. CE# was decked off years ago, this thread got me interested so I checked it out today. The pad under the starter is stamped 01 9V, block was cast A179. I noticed up front on the right side lower pad in front of the fuel pump it is stamped Z and 5 in what appears to be the same font as under the block., not together they in different spots. Probably not anything, but I thought it was strange.

I tried to deal with them last year.     They told me my NOS stuff was worthless.    Then I see them selling the same kind of parts for top dollar.   Also heard bad stories from members about them.    Good luck peddling there over priced parts.    Nothing there I will need
Totally agree had two bad dealings with them. Second time was my fault shouldn't have went back

Weren't the service 4 wheel disc housings different from production? Seems to me that I read that the housing tubes were not the same.

I personally wouldn't buy anything from them. I had an issue with a puchase and was never treated so rudely by a vender in my life.
