Originality / 69 bumper extentions
« on: April 02, 2009, 02:19:12 PM »
A friend has a pair of bumper extentions, the chrome piece that bolts on next to the license plate. I have no use for them they are the short ones with no rubber insert. They are NOS but the chrome is a little pitted from storage. Should I grab them? Or are there tons out there?

Maintenance / Disc Drum Brake Master Cyl
« on: March 30, 2009, 02:28:55 PM »
My son changed his 67 over from drum drum to disc drum. While doing so he changed the master cyl. He is now having trouble with no or very little brake peddle. I reseached the site and suspect he has no check valve in the drum portion of the master cyl. Does anyone make the proper cyl? Or do you have to install the check valves yourself? The new one he bought was supposed to be for the application, I'm not sure of the brand.

General Discussion / Collector's Car Insurance
« on: February 15, 2008, 08:57:35 PM »
I know there has been discussion on this before, but I just recieved my renewel and wanted some opinions on the price and coverage. The policy is with American Collectors Insuranse Inc.
Two cars with 300,000 liability and $300,000 uninsured motorist.
One car has a value of $51,500, the other $26,500, for collision and comprehensive.
The declaration page states "AGREED VALUE"
The premium is $413 per year. How does this measure up with the rest of the carriers?

General Discussion / Value of 67
« on: December 02, 2006, 05:41:42 PM »
There is a 67 that I may be interested in and could use some input on value. I looked at the car briefly several years ago and remember it as a very nice restoration. It is supposed to be a RS SS. It is a convertable. 350 4 speed. Assuming it is in top condition and all numbers checked out. What would a ball park value be on this car?

Restoration / 1969 Z-28 Tires
« on: July 09, 2006, 01:07:39 AM »
I was looking to purchase a new set of polyglass tires for my 12C 1969 Z-28. My spare I believe is original and it is a F70-15 Good-Year. The tire size is not printed in raised white letters on the side. I was looking at the Kelsey tire web site and it appears that their tire has the size in raised white letters. Does anyone have any experiance or input on their replacement tires?

Decoding/Numbers / Impossible to document?
« on: May 06, 2006, 04:17:41 PM »
I have a car that to my knowledge cannot be proven as to what it is. I would appreciate any advice. I am not in the market to sell it but down the road it could make a differance.
I purchased it in 1975 at that time I didn't know what a DZ motor was.
The body tag is dated 12C Van Neys built.
The block is a CE short block cast A69 I decked it at rebuild so CE# is gone, heads, dist, alternator, all match production date of car.
Trans has VIN and is correct.
Rear is 12 bolt 4.10 posi and is date correct.
I restored the car in the late 70's early 80's all NOS parts. Only 76000 miles but I wanted it better.
The paint code is - - the car is garnet red with white stripes. I have the original hood and deck lid in original paint.
I have no doubt as to what the car is, I have knowledge of it back to 1970. And we didn't even think of building clones then.
Why when you could buy a real one for 2 to 3 grand!
I would appreciate any ideas
                            Thanks Pat
