Sam, go down to your local auto parts store and get a gates or equivilant lower hose, and see what that one does.

Youi didn't look in the right section of the AIM! Check out UPC Z22, sheet A13 for the correct placement (which appears to be correct from your pictures).

General Discussion / Re: Anyone know how to get info from Team Camaro?

TC uses a little different Captcha than most sites. They use movies that you have to click the "Play" button to reveal the securty code. It'll be in quotes at the bottom of the movie preview as the movie plays. This months movie review is "Little Fockers", but other months it's different movies. In my case, the captcha code is "In Theaters December 22nd".

The image string is the numbers, letters or words that came up in the "captcha" verification window after you clicked the enter box. There are different kinds, but it should have looked something like what I've posted below.

Most sites use them to keep automated spamming software from hacking into the site. Sometimes they can be hard to read, so you may have to refresh to get a set you can make out.

Rob, I don't think hovering over the link will show you anything. At least it doesn't for me, and I don't remember it ever doing that.

You can add URL links, pictures, modify text... all kinds of stuff by using BBcodes, which are modified versions of HTML code. However, instead of using the < and the > symbols, they use the [ and the ] symbols.

Click HERE to learn how to add different kinds of links.

Note that not all web site forums allow BBCodes so they may not work. We do, as does the Team Camaro site, so have fun!!

Xerox is doing something really cool for our troops and you can (should) participate. Even if you disagree with our policies.

Go to THIS SITE and send a Christmas card to one of our troops. It only takes a few minutes of your time and would be a huge lift to someone far away from home. There are "canned" statements, but if you have the time, you can use your own words to say thanks. Please though, no political statements. Just be supportive of our military personnel.

So much work for so little gain!

Exactly. An almost totally useless option for convertibles.

When you say base model for '69 I'm assuming that is a monoleaf rear spring set-up.

That's correct. Mono leaf springs. However, the length difference is because of the way they mounted. 67's weren't "staggerd" like the 68 and 69's were.

Vic, I used to have a picture of the U80 rear speaker option in a convertible, but I can't seem to find it now. I'll keep looking and if I find it, I'll post it for you.

However in the meantime, if you ordered an AM radio, or an AM/FM mono radio, and also ordered the U80 option, you got one speaker on the rear passenger side of the car. If you ordered the AM/FM multiplex (stereo) and the U80 option, or the 8 track player (which automatically came with the U80 option), you got four speakers.

If you're looking to install the speaker(s), then check out THIS THREAD. Pay close attention to what Mark Canning (Mark C) posted about half way down.

The only info I have on shocks is what's in the P&A and the AIM's. The P&A doesn't list either, but the 67 AIM shows the 3192420 as being used on the base models. It doesn't show the 3192831. However, the 69 AIM shows the 3192831 as being used on the base models as well.

However, that doesn't mean they weren't used on anything else. Shocks were installed based on several criteria, so these may have been used with other applications as well.

Sean, those are the part numbers used in the current reproductions. Here's the 3192420 and here's the 3192831.

Are yours date coded? If so, they could be originals (although most places also offer date coding on their shocks as well, so it's not a given). If they are, post a  picture of the date code. I believe (and Jerry can confirm this), that the repop shocks have a different font or size than the originals.

Yeah, if you'll notice the spacing between all the numbers and letters is even except between the "unknown" and the 8. I would guess that the "unknown" might be an L (but even that doesn't fit the format). If it was an I or a 1, the spacing between the R, the "unknown" and the 8 would be the same.

Here you go Bob (see below).

Paul, your pump is dated the 99th day of 1968 (Monday, April 8th), so I would say you're right on. Can you post a picture of the stamp? I'd like to see that 1 or I that you're talking about.

Victor, as far as I know, all 68 side marker bezels were painted black inside the grooves. I've never seen any with white or had no paint in them*, but this isn't something I've done a lot of research on.

However, if you go by the AIM, under Z22 there's no note for this on the non illustrated parts page (Z22 page A2), and nothing in the rest of that UPC section showing anything different, so I would say with the evidence of the AIM and the P&A, there was only one set of bezels used, 3925429 for the fronts and 3927459 for the rears.

* I would imagine that after 40 some odd years of cleanings, especially using tooth picks and tooth brushes, some of the black in the grooves would be scrubbed off, but there should be some reminents of black in the corners. Mine are almost clean (no paint), but I DO show bits of black in several areas.
