You can also get one at your local auto parts store. Ask for a 1970 CAMARO PUMP.

I don't think he's talking about just the tan wire but the whole plug in set up.

Ah, gotcha. No, I've never seen one like that either, but there were sooooo many dependancies for the harnesses that it's impossible to say. You'll probably just have to purchase a new engine wiring harness from one of the local repop houses.

Yep. That's for the "differential pressure warning switch" located on the distribution block attached to the master cylinder.

68's were chrome but I'm not sure about 67's. The AIM (UPC60 Sheet A8) shows P/N 3885181 and 3885182 for the bezels, but it doesn's say what they are. Usually, when part numbers are given, it's the same finish for all cars. which leads me to believe they were chrome. If they were painted the color of the dash, there would have been a note to "see chart" for the different colors.

General Discussion / Re: engine accessory bolt marks
« on: March 12, 2011, 02:35:26 AM »
The problem with fasteners is that there were several suppliers to GM at that time and no one bolt is correct. There's Anchor, RBW, TR, SBC, RSC just to name a few, and all the vender bolts that were received were dumped into a bin and grabbed at random. You might have an Anchor bolt, a TR bolt and an SBC bolt holding on the bracket and this would be "correct".

I don't know exactly how many suppliers there were, but I do know there were a lot!

John might be able to tell you what he has on his 69 Z, but again, what he has may not have been what you originally had on your car.

I'm close by.  Should I waste my time and go see what the heck it is???

If you're close and it's not a big deal, could you? I'd like a few pictures of the VIN, Trim Tag and the car itself for the database.

I emailed the seller, but no reply, so it may be a scam? If so, be careful.

What amazed me about Mercedes, we were still able to get a lot of the parts from Mercedes for a 50 year old car!

And they're producing more and more each day! Mercedes recognizes the classic car collector more than just about any other automobile manufacturer in the world. It's amazing the amount of money they're willing to invest in tooling up the old parts for such a small amount of cars (25k for the 190SL and 3k for the 300SL). Yes, they're EXPENSIVE parts, but they're correct! And in most cases, even better than what they were back in the 50's.

Paul, when you get tired of it, let me know!! I had to sell my 55 190SL (originally owned by Count Bernadotte of Sweden) as a result of my divorce, so I could use a pick-me-up!!

Looks like your 300SL needs a brake job?
