Yes, you're right! And I think it was 1963 only.

John?

THIS might help. It shows the physical differences between the 8.2 and the 8.5 axles.

"BT" doesn't look familiar, but I don't have a lot of 68 CBC's to go on. What are the numbers stamped into the housing itself?

There isn't one. Just the horn relay to the steering wheel to ground.

I believe Kurt has a copy of the CBC on that car so maybe he can chime in.

It appears to have 13 blades which is incorrect for a first generation Camaro. With few exceptions (see below), just about every Chevrolet built in the 60's used the same 11 blade fan. However, if you look in the AIM on UPC 6 sheet A3 or A4, (And UPC K76 Sheet A1), you'll see what looks like YOUR fan!! 13 (?) blades and one groove on each blade!

What's the numbers stamped on your alternator?

The "Sealer" was P/N 9980664 and .2 ounces was applied. (Reference UPC 0 Sheet D7.5 for more info.) John can probably recommend a good substitute.

Were these same holes already present for the '69 model year?

Yes. Only early 68's had the issue.
