I didn't think you could get A/C on 67 big block.

Correct. You couldn't get an automatic on an L78 in 67 either. JR, are you sure this is a 396/375?

Ken, yes. I guess you didn't get my reply. I resent it just a minute ago.

Oh, now I see said the blind man.

No, there's no "pointer" per se in the system. The "pointer" is the shifter arm itself. There are detents cut into the shifter plate and when the arm is moved to one location, it should be adjacent to a letter (or number) in the window. I.E., When the arm is next to D, it's in Drive.

The only cars with "pointers' are column shift cars.

What range should I be looking for while searching for an original 69 Z28 in good condition

Pricing of REAL Z's, like most other muscle cars, have plummeted over the last few years, so 45k for a solid number 2 car isn't impossible. Two or three years ago no way, but now that we're in a "recession", you should be able to find something you like in the 40 to 50k price range. Probably even a numbers matching car!!

Why is it that people asking/expecting huge dollars for things on ebay cannot take pictures in focus of the some of the most important things?

Probably because they're trying to hide things!

DALE MANUFACTURING has a very good reputation, and I have one of his rebuilt balancers on my 69 Corvair. Great job and very reasonable prices.

Maintenance / Re: losing coolant

An inch below the top of the radiator is too high. Look at the engine side of the radiator about 3 or 4 inches under the filler neck and you'll see a line and "FULL COLD" ,indicating how far to fill (when the engine is cold). Any more than that and the radiator will "puke" out the excess. That's probably where you're loosing it.

If you're gauge is going just past half way in slow traffic, it's not that bad. Mine gets to just under half during the same scenerio. Remember, these gauges aren't that accurate so to really check the temps, go out and buy an IR thermometer. I got THIS ONE a few years ago from Harbor Freight and it showed my gauge to be about 15 degrees high!!

How much are you loosing? The first generation Camaro cooling system isn't a "closed" system like they have now. It's perfectly normal to loose an inch or so every 30 days depending on how much you're driving the car, maybe even more.

Nope. Not in the database. What's the suffix and date stamping?

He did stamp his rebuilder serial number in the aluminum cap and I would have rather it not be there...

That must be something new. He didn't do that with mine.

I've used TOM LEE a couple of times and had great service. He's not the cheapest, but he's well known and stands behind his work.

But he's in So Cal (where I am), so I didn't have to spend a fortune on shipping! You might want to check around at the local car shows and ask them.

John, you may have just given us the answer! If the original lines were nylon and the repops are plastic, therein lies the problem. Nylon has a much greater ability to bend and is less rigid than plastic, so maybe that's the reason I keep hearing about this issue.
