General Discussion / Re: Help and advice prior to purchase?

I got in touch with Jerry and he's "involved" right now (I can't elaborate but you know what that means), and trying taking a short (but in my opinion, a well deserved) holiday vacation at the same time! He said he'll be back in action within the next few weeks so don't worry if he doesn't contact you until then.

Ok guys, after the holiday I'll see what he can dig up for us (Yep. Me too. Mines' broken.)

Marty, if your seat is hitting the dash and you still have that much slack, there's something wrong. Measure the cable and see if it's the same as ours.

Did Chevorlet build distributors in batchs.

Yes they did.

I was wondering what dates would work for a early September 1969 z28.

Jerry can answer this one for you. I'll ask him.

It's only on the passenger seat (driver doesn't need one since the seat back hits the steering wheel when pushed forward), and as far as I know, no one is reproducing them. Used would be your best bet.

The original part number (in Group 11.381) was 7726498 and it was also used on the 67-69 Corvair Monza. If you want I can ask my buddy Jeff at CALIFORNIA CORVAIR'S if he has any. He won't be back until next week though (Christmas vacation).

I've been informed by Jon (Mello) that the 519 and 520 arms were used on ALL 68's with power steering so I wanted to update this thread.

67 and 68 steering is VERY confusing, but hopefully, one day, we'll have a report on it for you.

Jon, any additional comments?

No, the 67 is different than the 68-69.

6-cylinder Camaros / Re: 1968 Distributor Cam Luricator Part Number
« on: December 22, 2011, 08:44:25 PM »
Steve, great detective work!!

1961088 is the correct one (62-69 6 cylinder), but it was superceeded by the 1852935 in January of 1976, so finding one is going to be next to impossible.

The problem is finding the "correct" style. CLARKS CORVAIR shows the wick for the Corvair (same P/N by the way), on page 77 (item number 10), but there's a little asterisk next to the part, so I'm not sure if it's "right". Joe, you might want to give them a call.

However, I just spoke to Jeff at CALIFORNIA CORVAIR (a friend of mine) and he said he probably has a few used ones. Would that work for you Joe?

Just the N44 independent of other options.

That's a service part number designed to fit multiple applications. You probably won't find the "correct" one so you'll have to modify it.

Nope. RPO N44 (Special Quick Ratio Steering) was included in the Z28 package, but was an option on any other Camaro.

AH! I see what you mean now. In that case that knob is in the wrong box!
