Mild Modifications / FiTech TBI Fuel Injection
« on: June 06, 2016, 10:58:43 PM »
I've decided after17 years that my Z10 is part of the family and it's not going anywhere.  So, rather than see it get out of storage about 5 days a year to go to shows, I've decided to make it more user friendly.

As I've gotten older I've gotten spoiled by little things like A/C, cruise control, crisp steering, stickier tires, 5speed transmissions and fuel injection.  So, I've made the decision to do some modifications on the Z10, that will be fully reversible, and will coax me into driving it more frequently.

So about 2 months ago I decided to save my 14" Goodyear GTII's which are 15 years old and swap them out for stickier rubber and 17" aluminum rallies.  My next mod is adding fuel injection from Fitech.  The Fitech TBI system bolts on my ZZ4 manifold and is basically invisible under the air cleaner assembly.  It also incorporates a surge tank which boosts pressure for the TBI, and doesn't require me to drop the tank and install a high pressure pump or change the tank out completely.

After installation the engine started right up and so far has really woken the ZZ4 up.  So, here are a few photos if anyone is interested.

My 14" Goodyear GTII's are over 15 years old now and I'm just nervous about driving them on the highway for any amount of time. So,I just bought a set of 17" rally's and mounted them with my derby caps.  These are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500.  Now I'm debating weather to paint the letters on the sidewalls.

I'll now be able to use the Goodyears exclusively for shows.
