Believe John Z. What is your intent for the car? Weekend fart around? Cars and coffee? Drive like you hate? A.M.C.?

We are referencing this long screw?

Yea, your car came with Deluxe interior and not standard. Both are referred to as “door panels”. The reproduction panels are plastic, and the original ones are cardboard. From what I remember, the reproduction panels look good, but the housing is not bent at the top area to fold over correctly and presents a fitment issue. For your car, I would recommend having the panels recovered. Not cheap, but you know the fit is good. You can buy the bulk material from Classic industries by the yard and have an upholstery business recover all of the panels.

This is the current aftermarket available part and is probably the screw. I’ve circled the part in green and the others to help narrow. Is this what we’re referencing this or just the ones holding the bracket to the rear frame?

Scan done. I had to whittle a broken tab -that wasn’t from the piece for mock-up, and the scan shows it. The 3d image will eliminate it so it will be cosmetically correct. So far I like it. Definitely not my forte’ of expertise.

Screw shows the same for chambered as well in the AIM. Parts book shows a standard screw 1/4 20x5/8. Still looking….

My experience was not good….and mine were mono leaf. They put the rear end extremely high in the back-like air shocks. I would have local spring shop rebuild and re-arch them.

Springs will settle they say…..actually they won’t. My originals still sit at factory height….and I have checked on the ground to measure several times over the years, most recently after I had to replace the broken left rear leaf.
My brother’s 67 rear still looks he has air shocks on- 25 years later….no settling.

Steve, I’ll keep an eye out, but you may end up having to source a set of used. This might help get you there.

More pictures always help. If you need new, Waldrons is the only company making the correct head pipe. I’m waiting to hear from them about the muffler outlet. The over the axle pipe and tailpipe fit quite well.

Thanks Hers...is this muffler the original? If so, can you upload some pictures of the hangars on both sides?
