General Discussion / Re: 67 RS/SS w/AC blower motor wire

There is a discussion of the orange wire on a 1967 Camaro with a/c on the website below:

https://www.camaros.net/threads/orange-wire.41053/

There's a discussion about the 69 AIM and the orange wire being bundled up and taped to the AC control wires.

So, the does let me know the orange wire was on every car AC equipped or not.

I'm also being told GM cut the orange wire on 67s with AC.

I bet there are survivors out there that have it both cut and rolled and taped.

At the top of C60 E2 sheet in the AIM, at center under item #4 TAPE, there is a note B to coil and tape a production blower motor wire, to the harness.  Is that the wire you are looking at?

I see that now but I have multiple questions here.

That page shows a 6cyl and the location where the orange wire comes out of the firewall is not the harness I'm talking about.

However, it would seem reasonable the same would be done on a v8 car.

I'm beginning to think 67 AC cars would of had the heat only orange wire taped back up on the harness. No one of any authority has said this.

If anyone has a 67 factory AC survivor car and has time could you check for the orange wire that runs down to the starter and see if the wire is still there. If so, how was it handled.

Thanks for any help.

To add a little more context to my question.

I've attached few more photos.

My old engine harness that runs down to the starter has a cut orange wire that I believe would be used for the blower in a non AC car.

Likewise, the new harness has this orange wire that isn't used on AC cars and I'm not sure if the factory just terminated the wire or if there were two different harnesses used on non AC vs AC cars.

The other photos shows the wires that are used for the blower motor on AC cars and they come from a different harness.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to hear them.

Good day,

I've got a 67 RS/SS with AC and my question deals with blower motor wiring.

On a non AC car there is an orange wire that is part of the engine harness that runs to the blower motor. On an AC car those wires are part of AC harness.

Does the engine harness on an AC car still have the orange wire or is it omitted when the harness is built.? If they use the same harness was anything done to the orange wire to terminate it?

I've looked in the AIM and it does show the orange wire routing and UPC 12 A9 shows the non AC wiring and UPC C60 refers to E1-7 for AC cars. E1 shows the AC.

I've attached a non AC pic to show the wire in question. I am aware that the wire in the photo isn't routed correctly. :) not my car

On my AC car the orange non AC wire was cut near the starter. I believe the harness to be original to the car.

I've got an AAW replacement and it has the orange wire on it. I'm just not sure what to do with it.

Restoration / Re: 67 Pace Car Door Decal install advice needed

Normally, wetting the panel isn't a "type" of decal. Unless you're talking the decals that come with model cars. It's a method to installing them. The soapy water is used so you can move the decal around without damaging it. Once you are happy with the placement of the decal you squeegee out the water and the decal sets.

Good luck on the install.

Many thanks to Boomer for getting my part and shipping it! Also thanks to Rocky and Rich Lordo for almost getting it. Boomer lives much closer, and the guy selling the decided to not sell after his son said the part was underpriced. But we struck a deal and Boomer got it, took pictures to verify it while I checked the interwebs. I owe him a Primanti Bros. Sandwich.
And a special shout out to Cook-DW for thinking of me, forwarding the Craigslist ad, and getting the ball rolling….because he lives in Tennessee. Makes sense right?

Garbage. Why did you buy them?

Aren't you just a pill.

Without having them in his hands how was he to know the quality.

In my short time here I've come to know you are a first class grade A jerk. No amount of experience or knowledge gives you the right to an Ahole to anyone.

Restoration / Re: Painting stripes on a early 69 Z28
« on: April 18, 2023, 01:19:00 PM »
I have posted before about the rear stripes on my early (Oct build 68) LOS built z28. My build sheet has D80. The back of my trunk lid also is striped. I have the shorter stripes as well. Look for my previous posts which include pictures. As I said back then I don't see any evidence of an accident. I'm the second owner.

Thread with the photos of your trunk/spoiler.

I used zip strip paint remover and than navel jelly and green scratch pads on the rust. You can see grinding marks left by prior owner rust removal.

I've got some photos of my trunk clean up but I need to resize and shrink them to fit CRG's photo size restrictions.
