Blue dots in the back up lights. Dare to be different, I guess.
That was common in the late 70s and early 80s.
I was alive then. We put them in the red lens to make purple running and brake lights. The white lens only comes on when in reverse, so not very effective.
I thought you could get AC with the L35 but not the L78?
Yuck on that stamp.
Mama Mia, would have been better off to just let the assembly date on. VIN 124379N618563
Funny thing about air tags is that if you have an Apple phone, it will tell you that you are being tracked. Not sure if there is a way to disable the feature, but my friend had one in his wallet, and my phone alerted me about it.
Apple Air tag time
That's not another L, that is just part of the stamp itself.
I think it's all factory, btw.

Yup, the operator bumped the "egg" while he was re-positioning the tool and knocked one of the number rings off-index; I've seen that before. Nobody paid any attention to it in the plant, as it was "invisible" - the heater or A/C case was installed over it before the body got to the first Chevy Trim Line inspector.
I find it more interesting that the leading 7 is missing on both stamps....
Wow, so close but no cigar, 110 off from my car.
One round trip from San Diego to Pomona to the radio guys shop. He came recommended and was really nice. We had already traded emails and talked. Here’s the story…my 68 has a factory AM/FM. I pulled it out in 1989 or so because the light bulb blew out. Changed it out, 2 weeks later the radio quits, so I put in the ol’ Sparkomatic with the 5 band equalizer /power booster. Pull Sparky out during restoration and put in non functional radio.
Now at the radio guys shop and told him I don’t have a front speaker. The original front speaker got tossed forever ago and now I new to source a front core somehow (found a convertible rear already). He walks over to a plastic bin, pulls it down and says “take your pick” while he answered all my questions about fitment, date codes, etc. We tested my fader control -Tis good to go. So I get reconed OEM front (with the mount bracket) and rear speaker, fader installed, a “I’m replacing all these parts that fail over time” and showed me an example, cleaning, lubing, tuning, etc. In about a month it’ll be done. He even showed my Bluetooth piece that can connect to the FM frequency. Factory radio -no extra cables! Stay tuned.
