First time I noticed the cylinder looks pretty rough and it's already .40 over.

Tim -
Any chance you still have the cowl grill off your car? When I had the bodywork done on my car with the intent of adding factory air, I had a new firewall welded in, but didn't know about the cowl plenum valve and the cut-out needed to install it.
Any chance you - or anyone else reading this - has some accurate measurements for that cut-out on the top of the cowl? I'm going to have to make that cut myself and would like to get it in the right spot and the right size! I've seen one set of photos that give a pretty good picture of where it's located, but if possible, would like some real measurements.
Thanks in advance for any info.
Dale
Sounds like a lot but that works out to about 12 cancelled orders per dealership in 1969. Camaros sold well, dealers wanted deep inventory to sell from. So they ordered more than the plants could build. This is from a Zone letter dated November 6, 1968.
There were of course other reasons; incorrect orders, customer cancellations. The data I have to work with reveals several large gaps in body numbers, which was also the dealer order confirmation. Appears on several occasions, they cancelled thousands of confirmed orders. I believe a similar situation occurred with the C8 Corvette launch.

From the ad:
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 "X77" code car.
N553571 was final-assembled on or about December 3, 1968. X77 tag has an 03D date, 4th week March 1969. One or both tags are not original to the car.
Great story.
Wouldn't it be great if they had continued using those trim tags!
Original Muncie shifter is in it, but just a T handle. I held the original Shifter ball in my hand, it's bagged... Danny
Well someone totally borked this one.
N580705 was final-assembled on or about January 17, 1969. Would not have an 09E tag.
The VIN tag has also been off the car.

Sounds like a nice book. I was ordering the book but the shipping cost of $26 was just to much. Maybe the shipping cost was listed wrong.
