The posting from camaro.net on Sept. 5, 2001 says that the upper dash panel was for sale on eBay, which included the VIN tag:

Trans-Am Camaros / Re: Trans Am racing pace car pics...are there any?
« on: January 19, 2023, 01:46:05 AM »
Scott - Thank you for the footage taken at Road America as I think I saw Thieriot's GTA #95 at the beginning of the film.  Charlie once told my brother that when they used to race the 2 liter cars with the 5 liter cars, during the driver's meeting, they were told to stay out of Parnelli Jones' way! - Mark

Thank you for all the information about Charlie Thieriot as he and my brother, John, both belonged to the Alfa Romero Owner's Club of Southern California.  Although I never met Charlie, he seemed to be quite a character as he once bought a 1967 Ferrari 275/GTB4 back in the 1970s (when they were somewhat affordable) and joined the local Ferrari club.  When Charlie found that the club members were not as friendly as those in the Alfa club, Charlie took his GTA to a track event at Riverside and had the 3rd fastest time, which didn't go well with the other Ferrari owners.  My brother was at the Trans Am race at Riverside with Charlie and also saw Parnelli Jones win the last 1970 race of the season. - Mark

Scott - Do you have any photos of Charlie Thieriot, who drove an Alfa Romero GTA at the 1970 Trans Am races at Road America, Watkins Glen, and Riverside?  Thanks - Mark

I had a friend who said that he was going to buy a new Corvette if he survived his second tour in Vietnam.  Upon returning, he went to Harry Mann Chevrolet and told the salesman to order the fastest Corvette available.  Well, my friend got a 1969 Corvette with a L88 engine, which he only kept for one month as he said it was too dangerous to drive!

Here is an article about a 1967 Camaro that had a L88 engine installed by Nickey Chevrolet:

According to CRG, this 1969 396 Camaro should have been equipped with smog equipment:

My neighbor's uncle was on the USS Pennsylvania on Dec. 7th, being a recent graduate of the US Naval Academy, survived and retired as a captain.  His other uncle was KIA when his B-17 was shot down on July 23, 1943 and is buried at the cemetary in Neuville-en Condroz, Belgium.

Maintenance / Re: Balancing flywheel and clutch assembly together?
« on: November 24, 2022, 11:09:48 PM »
I read the instructions from Hayes and their suggestion about balancing the flywheel & assembly was listed if you had a vibration problem at high rpm:

https://documents.holley.com/199r11791.pdf

These instructions also are not specific to the type of vehicle, so you may want to call the manufacturer if you have questions.

Owen Keown Chevrolet had their parts department and repair facilities on Carter Avenue, next to the buildings where Shelby American had their assembly plant before moving to LAX:

Brew14u - I believe you are correct that the Chevy 302 was internally balance and therefore the flywheel was neutrally balanced.
