General Discussion / DZ suffix ?
« on: December 12, 2021, 04:51:37 AM »
Hi, I am looking at the Meccum Kissimmee Auction in January 2022 and seen a Daytona Yellow Z28 Lot R176 for Thursday 01/13/22 !
its engine suffix is V0820DZ although from the 8 onwards the font size is larger than the others is that normal? the car is built 09/22/69 which would make it 09D are the dates ok?
I looked at my engine and it is V0902DZ and built 09/15/69, any insight as to Lot R176 being ok
Thank you again for any input

Hi All,
I have tried to contact Brad Adams via the email posted 23rd Camaro Nationals Morgantown but it has bounced back as not a valid recipient has any one
been in contact via email for the 1969 Camaro Legends Judging Manual.
Thanks again in advance

General Discussion / 1969 Van Nuys built z28
« on: October 25, 2021, 06:32:12 AM »
Hi all, I am looking into a car for a friend but  I am not sure about a couple of things,
(1)  trim tag states 04C   and on same line M 572 which I believe is the 13th day of April 572nd car produced that day on Van Nuys built cars.
(2) The engine is V0418DZ  so 18th day of April,
(3)the VIN numbers fall in the April range of vin's
(4) the M20 has P9D07A 7th of April, and  the 12bolt is 12 Dec 68, my thoughts are that some thing is not adding up.
Can an issue with production cause engine to have a latter date prefix,  than the trim tag date?
I don't have date code cast number of Block yet but it is a 0010 Block with information that has been passed on to us
Any info would be useful as I always thought that engine prefix can be up to 4-6 weeks before built date.
Thanks in advance

Thank you for that information Ed, I had it all wrong. The  vin  though decodes a 6 I assume that is correct.

Hi William,

From the information that's at hand you are right, also the vin 123379N609241 is for a 6 cylinder car, and trim 12437NOR140861 is V8 car

Wow!!  she looks great,  definite be a crowd pleaser.
from the look of the photo you are on a homestretch....John

My car was built 09/15/1969 in Norwood Ohio,  X33 ....John

Hi Joe,
your car sounds amazing with the Parchment(white) roof Yellow/Yellow
mine is a 76B  714 09C built car.....John

sorry disregard my last message as an oversight on my behalf,
upon expanding the photo I noticed the B more to the right.

Thank you William,
that clears up my query so being an early built car as you stated would the tag also have to have the letter B after 76 colour code
for Black vinyl roof, or is it like the D80  option and  included on later built car trim tags

Hi Danzo
thank you for your feedback

Hi just thought it was interesting that a dealer is selling a genuine 69 z28 daytona yellow with yellow hounds tooth trim
vin 124379N635021 and trim tag 714  76 built  04C, Am I wrong to assume colour combo was not available until later on in
the year. As I am not sure how to down load the add it is on the hemmings site, Interested on feed back
thank you

Research Topics & Reports / Re: First Gen Camaro radiator dates
« on: May 16, 2021, 11:32:15 PM »
I would like to ad my radiator details also if it helps in anyway.
My Harrison  radiator is from a 3rd week September built 1969 Z and it has CB on the tank as well as a F,
Unfortunate the radiator tag is missing.
