Boys,
For those who have never seen or heard of this before, here is an experimential Olds 'HEMI' engine that was proposed for possible production. It was rumored to have made over 500 HP with the Q-Jet carb! Enjoy!

General Discussion / RS hideaway headlights with flat hoods?

Boys,
As a new guy on here I do have a question (hope its not a dumb one!) concerning the 1969s with the RS options, especially with the hideaway headlights: Did this option require the Cowl Induction hood, OR was it available with the flat hood? Reason I ask, I have not seen one with a flat hood.

Not talking about prices, or performance here…only about the exterior styling. Do you think Chevy copied the Ford GT and other high end exotics for a 'similar' appearance? We all know Chevy was teasing us about a mid engine Corvette since the 1970s, and now its a reality. Your thoughts/opinions.

Need a bit of advice/help on this one. What Mark IV Big Block cast iron exhaust manifolds flow the best with square port heads. I am not chassis restricted, so no worries there.

Boys,
Some opinions on this…unfortunately, it appears to me and others that our beloved Pony Cars along with the Musclecar demand is coming to a slow end. Reason I say this, most of my friends in this hobby are a bit older then myself (no disrespect), along with the age, and health issues are forcing them to sell their cars/collections/parts. Since the younger generation (kids) appear to have no interest in our cars, and auction sales tend to favor the Resto-mods. Lastly, when you can buy a new Challenger/Camaro/Mustang with 700+ horse power, along with a warranty, why would a consumer want an older car these days? Your thoughts... agree/disagree?

Since I like rare 'exotic' Muscle-Cars, my question is did Chevy ever consider any V-8 DOHC, SOHC, or other exotic type of engines for the first gen Camaro? Of course these would be experimental 'mule cars'. Thoughts?
