Correct, drive shaft was out.  Clarification on the jack use, my memory had a gap in my original post.  I put a jack in place a foot or so away from the snubber and used it as the fulcrum for a pc. of 2x4 which applied the pressure on the snubber.  one hand on the 2x4, one hand with flat blade

I ended up using a floor jack to continually apply pressure while I poked with a large flat blade screwdriver.  They are tough little buggers.

Thanks for the confirmation....yes the flange has a flat edge.  FWIW, the lid is black.

Resurrecting this old thread as I'm trying to confirm what I have.  My ZL2 air cleaner is likely not the original to the car based on the car history.  PO told me that after he bought the car in the 1980 time frame he went to the GM dealer and bought a bunch of stuff including X11 trim and a dash pad.  I'm guessing he bought this air cleaner setup at the same time.  He supplied me an engine photo from 1981 that shows this air cleaner.  Seal ring still has GM sticker on it, base has no markings.  Is my air cleaner consistent with a 1970's/80's service replacement?

Originality / Re: 69 Camaro Trunk Divider

For anyone that has an original clean trunk divider and an interior floor pan that has not been "messed with", I'm curious if there is evidence of spatter on the rear floor?

Originality / 69 Camaro Trunk Divider
« on: May 14, 2021, 09:03:41 AM »
I started a thread over @ SYC regarding restoring my original trunk divider.  Mine had obviously been hit with trunk spatter by the 4th owner of the car.   I wonder if this divider was in place when Fisher body applied the trunk spatter and could have some spatter on it when delivered to assembly.  Anyone have definitive info on this?

General Discussion / Re: Late 1969 Door VIN Tag

Were the two horizontal ribs on the door shell always there or was that a design change for this label?  I.e. if the latter, then if your door has the ribs, it should have the VIN sticker?
