My X44 car is under resto.  Reversed all the x11 cues that were added in the late '70's.  No regrets.

Here's a comparison of an original fuel line clip off a 15,000 mile car and the retros from HBC.

Decoding/Numbers / Late build COPO distributors

Did all 69 COPO Camaro use the 111499 distributor or did late builds get the 1112000 distributor?

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Wiper motor tag decode
« on: August 06, 2019, 01:37:12 AM »
Thanks Rick....read through that thread and am now more confused.  The format listed in that thread would indicate that my wiper motor was built on the 309th day of 1966?  Tag mistake?  Mine is stamped as a Delco unit from Dayton, Ohio.  My car is an 09D of 1969 (269th day assembly) with 15,500 original miles.  I'm assuming this is the original wiper motor due to the mileage, but ya never know.  I am trying to validate if this thing is original to the car or not so I know if I should invest time in restoring it.

Thanks everyone for your help both online and offline!  The appearance of the Yukon gear replacement is very different especially in the "inside area where the u-joint sits.  I found a good used original.....one less part on my list to get!

Garage Talk / Re: Car Lift
« on: June 15, 2019, 12:28:57 AM »
I have a Bendpak HD9-XW.  Selected a lift, then built my garage around it lol.  14 foot ceiling height so I can raise my car all the way up with the hood open and still clear the lights on the ceiling.  Can get my 1/2 ton pickup underneath it.  Also bought an air-powered lift jack to make wheel work easy with a 4 post lift.  The lift is by far the best tool I ever bought.

Great story Bentley!  Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.  Hopefully you'll get more info from the OO's widow, she is probably happy knowing the car survived.

Restoration / BE COPO rear questions
« on: June 11, 2019, 12:09:36 AM »
Working on cleaning up my BE rear and have a couple of questions.  Is this the correct pinion yoke for a COPO application?  I've read where the joints should be held by straps/bolts instead of u-bolts like this one?  Also noticed a "58" mark above the cast date tag.  Anyone know what that is for?  And, finally, Noticed a "D" stamped below and left of the BE stamp.....any idea what that is for?
