Shipped out today USPS Priority!  ;D  Danny

Danny,
The brace arrived. Awesome packaging by the way. :)

I ran it thru the sandblaster and welded up the hole. Next, grind and finish. Fit perfectly. Thanks a million for your assistance with our Z.

I found it!!! It has a small hole in it? Maybe got shorted out and took a chunk out while the battery was still connected. Weld it real quick, grind it down and repaint.
Or just use as is...Already boxed it up and it's ready to ship. PM me your address and I'll send it to ya.  ;)  Danny

Excellent Danny. Thanks.

D&R

Thanks for the response.  Have you used that exact one, or know a car that has it?

Bill, is the orange one original? Normally sold in pairs! Where did you purchase the black one? D&R, Heartbeat and others probably sell what is coming from a central supplier. The repro's stamped with GT as far as I know work fine.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Camaro-67-68-Z28-Alternator-Brackets-2-pc-set-adjuster-brackets/371905775814?fits=Year%3A1968%7CSubmodel%3AZ28&hash=item56974fc8c6:g:CmUAAOSwc2FaSDkX

I bought the pair, stamped GT from T/A Performance in Ca last year.   I was trying to figure out if it’s maybe the geometry of The whole set up, including the lower mount, but I see that I have the very same headers and lower mount as you do, so the elevation of the alternator is probably ok.

Well, my aftermarket reproduction brace appears to be no where near accurate.  Not enough arch so it gets into the fan blades.  Who makes one that is correct?

Thanks,
Bill

I have the exact same problem as Dave in the original post with the one I bought from HBC.  Where can I get a correct one with holes at both ends rather than the slotted hook?
Thanks,

Bill

That's a memorable car.  If anyone has seen it at a cruise in they will know it.  I ran this ad in the Auto RV local car flyer and it worked.  A guy called and said, "I know the first and second owners" and it went great from there.  Also now have met the third owner.

Good tip. What made you not get home shop 8k shown at $2595? I am just mostly cleaning, detailing, maybe oil change.

I don’t remember exactly. I think when I got mine maybe jack tray came with one and not the other.  The Apex is also industry certified but I think the show (PRI in Indy) sale price on the upgraded one was just a couple hundred more than the hobby lift. Both looked certainly adequate.

Thanks for the heads up.

...changing settings on time machine to July 1973...........  ;)

My Atlas Apex 8 came from Greg Smith Equipment.  It moves around with one hand while on the casters.  Works good and is sturdy.  Looks good and was cost effective too.  They are currently $3145 on the website, I caught it on sale at a show

Fortunately there was enough over spray of the dash paint on the lower section of the A pillar to confirm a good match.  Thanks for the interior color links guys!

Looking for definitive answer on the top of dash paint for my red interior 68.
I did find via search topics this same question for 67s but I don’t know if the referenced paint code would be the same, and the links posted in that old thread are dead.

Thanks,
Bill
