General Discussion / 1969 Hurst shifter support plate bolts

I’m in the process of returning the original shifter plate on my car. Currently it has an aftermarket Hurst plate. There are two bolts that go through the shifter. One bolt threads into the square nut on the back of the plate. The other bolt goes through the shifter and attaches to a special nut that allows the shifter to be adjusted forward or backward. I believe that I’ve found the two bolts but I’m not certain they’re the right length. Hoping someone can tell me the length of the two bolts. Appreciate any help!

General Discussion / 1969 dash pad install with blue light stereo

My car is an original blue light stereo car. I recently removed the dash pad to work on some things in the dash. The clip that attaches to the dash pad directly above the multiplexer will not seat completely. In saying that it leaves a bump in the dash pad when installed. I don’t recall seeing that when I removed the dash pad. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

General Discussion / 1969 reproduction Astro Vent cables

Has anyone ever used the reproduction vent cables from OER? The plastic on my originals had cracked and seperated from the lever. Specifically at the point where the push clip holds the cable to the kick panel. No way to repair so I took a chance with reproductions. The lower reproduction vent cable works fine but the upper one I can't seem to open, close the vent door with the lever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

General Discussion / Bucket seat plastic spacers (washers)

I'm in the process of re-upholstering the front seats on my car. There are two plastic spacers (washers) that go between the seat back arms and the pivot post on the seat bottoms. I discovered that I only have one. I'm looking for another one and I'm curious if anyone has found a source to purchase them from. I have included a picture to show what they look like. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Does anyone know the correct exhaust tip finish that was used in the mid year exhaust change? Specifically for a car built in Feb., March 1969 which has the single cross flow muffler. I've seen many old photos that show it to be bare steel. Appreciate any help.

Hi,
New to the site and also a first time post. Long time owner of a 1969 Z/28 that came with fiber optics. My car was built in March 1969 at The VanNuys Plant and sold at Guardian Chevrolet in Brea, CA. I've been looking for info. on the use of a 'black plastic gasket' that sits between chrome bezel and the fender. I've been told that the 'gasket' was only used on Norwood, OH built Camaro's with fiber optics. In over thirty years I have found no factual information to support that Norwood only Camaro's used this gasket. There is nothing in The AIM that shows it use. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
