General Discussion / Re: Anybody know history of vin…?
« on: November 08, 2023, 11:37:43 PM »
I hear ya, but the reason I surf this site is the interesting history on the cars, documentation, etc.  I find that information fascinating more than the original value of the car.

The appeal for a car like this is it is ~mostly built (huge savings usually), though in my opinion still needs rear discs, a/c and the CID badge put on the hockey stick.  Looks like a clean, fun car.

Thanks for the sales history...I had to laugh at the quick drop in price.   Flipper 101.  Never pay high!

Curious if anybody knows what this car started out as from Gm?

It’s the white modded Foose SS/RS listing.  Looks like last sold at 77k.

Garage Talk / 69 CID Emblem vs Side marker alignment

Do the tops of the side marker and emblem align and what is the horizontal distance from the marker to the emblem?

were z11 cars built early on for the event?  The later cars could have been part of Z11 fever.   guys liked them, then ordered them for a while promotional deal.

Could this be one of those cars, maybe a special person owned it?  just referencing the 612 number, though was close via date code.   Was the 396 a later idea or did this start from the first one built?

This is a very nicely done restoration and is worth what they are asking.  Unfortunately for the seller, they better have some documentation or they won't get the 75k.

Anyone seen the Shorty car in person?  I keep seeing it on the intro to Shorty's show but can't find it online.

Also, here is one for sale that is interesting. I guess built by foose.   What is your guess on resale?  $125k?

Decoding/Numbers / D80 option
« on: July 18, 2022, 07:02:18 PM »
If a car is X11D80, could that option have been ordered for any 69 camaro?

I found a car on CL and noticed the D80.  I don't have the vin#, but the car looks pretty clean.  Not the original color/interior, but a good looking setup.

Just wonder what the D80 implies if anything other than spoilers.

that car has more problems than a trim tag.  looks thrown together.  poor measurements for rally stripes.  driver' side laps under the "Camaro" emblem.
SS?  haha, yeah right aren't they all.

Is this this an authentic Z10 396 car? I know the motor and probably most of drivetrain is not, then again, kind of like the engine setup.

looks like a ton of undercoating on the trim tag.  makes me question authenticity of the car and integrity of firewall.  With regards to the seller, may very well be exactly what he says.  Sounds like some bad things happened w/the suspension too.

looks like a decent car @ $21,500.  I got a pic of the trim tag before sold.  If I had more time, I may have bid on this one.
