« on: August 12, 2020, 11:12:48 PM »
Hello, does anyone have the dimensions of a oem rear yoke for the 8.2 particularly the length from the top u bolt flat surface to the bottom of the shaft. Also does anyone have the torque specs or any info that would assist in install. Thanks

From what I have read I am going to pass on the 5.5 backspacing wheels but may see if I can still get the skinnies.

General Discussion / 15 x 8 Backspacing question
« on: May 29, 2019, 11:37:36 PM »
Would a set of 15 x 8 rear wheels with a 5.5 backspace work on a 1969 Camaro?
also, does anyone have problems running a 15 x 3.5 wheel in the front? How much would such a small tire affect braking?

If you're using a 8.2" 10 bolt, I wouldn't spend any $$$ on it for racing. Spend that money on an upgrade. Get a 8.5" 10 bolt or 8.875" 12 bolt. 1972 thru 1979 nova is a cheap source for the 8.5".
I thought it was a 8.2 its the original rear was the 8.5 a option? i figure it held up this long i will just replace it when it breaks.

i want to change out my gears in my 1969 10 bolt from 3.23 to 3.73 and have been looking at yukon or Richmond gears. But they seem very expensive (compared to years ago) i mostly dragrace my car but it does see some street use so i need some good strong gears but am hoping for some other options.  Thanks

i would like to get rid of my unused radio antenna with out leaving a hole in the the fender. and not any body work or paint. i would even consider just replacing it with a retractable one. is there any products on the market to fix this.  Thanks

I'm answering this since you asked about where in PA but PA is one huge state, and you have next to zero in your profile information so where in PA are you located? How about a first name?  :) I have two shops I'd recommend depending if your somewhere in the area.
With your information given it would seem most difficult to establish what might be wrong. What was determined to be a root cause for each issue? Or was what you wrote the fix to just add parts? Not meant as a negative comment but I'd want to take an issue like "brakes" to a mechanic (shop) that know brakes and can determine what went wrong and what to fix and not necessarily to an engine builder and then a fellow racer also a mechanic. Why the need for a vacuum pump? You stated the master cylinder went out but did the racer also mechanic determine again root cause. Your car brake system needs a full review and attention of a acknowledged brake expert. Good luck!
you are exactly right when you say i need a shop that knows brakes that is why i am asking for recommendations never found a root cause because everything they did fixed it temporarily vacuum pump was because i was right on the edge of my motor making enough vacuum running a near 500 horse 383 stroker i live in clearfield pa but own a truck and trailer and am willing to tow far to get this fixed my name is Eric and thanks for the help.
