General Discussion / Re: Interior color numbers for 67?
« on: March 21, 2014, 03:30:00 PM »
My first response was incorrect. Sorry.

>The five main interior colors for each year are listed below, meaning that some of the lower production colors such as turquoise are not shown.
Because the sampling of the database isn't uniform.

I'm sorry to keep pressing the issue but I'm just not understanding the problem. I'm a computer programmer for a living and I've architected my share of databases so I'm trying to understand why a turqoise interior would not be listed as an option within your table that stores information from decoded trim tags...perhaps I'm just not informed enough about the way interiors were coded on the trim tags? The interior portions of my trim tag decode as follows:

67-12637 = Custom Interior Coupe
779 = Custom Turquoise Bucket Seats
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group

Is 3S (Z23) the deluxe interior package and therefore why the color is not listed? On the otherhand, since I have 779 listed, couldn't one assume that custom turqoise bucket seats means that the rest of the car's interior is probably turqoise in color as well?

Because deluxe and standard interior colors were combined in that analysis.

I don't get it....

If CRG maintains a database of color variations, why aren't the lower production colors listed? My car has the Emerald Turqoise exterior with the turqoise interior and I've submitted my numbers to CRG. Just having some kind of point of reference in terms of numbers would be helpful...especially if they exist. If you had let's say 20,000 options listed in your database, I would assume the numbers generated from that sample would be fairly accurate across the board +/- 3%...

Here's the flyer front and back if anyone needs it. They're having them every 2 months apparently.

Zak, I don't know a whole lot of guys who would get close enough to find out.. :-X

I am not sure which is older in that pic. ... Maybe I should watch what I say, she could be a CRG member!

Haha, yeah tread lightly my friend.

Jack, I sent a message to Austin already but registration is at 7am. I was planning on getting there between 6:30-6:45. We should probably meet up to gaurantee some spots next to one another.

Hey Austin, I figured out my exhaust issue. I believe it to be the heat riser exhaust valve. I think it's stuck shut. HBC has a factory NOS one for $83 I'm thinking of picking up. I suspect that the valve should be difficult to close by hand...mine is not. I can open and close it VERY easily but like I said, it's stuck in the closed position. At least I figured out the problem!

BTW, are we on for Mad Medilines on Sunday?

Well if we were to somewhat organize for next years Rod Run, we would have to have a good plan. Guys are pretty strategic out there, I saw guys filling spots on thursday with beater cars (to save a spot), and then swapping cars on Friday. I am in the know now

Yep. That spot that Jack and I had was plush. No strollers cruising through and scratching up your paint...and it had that storefront where you could sit back and grab some shade if you needed to. I'd like to get that area again if we could.

I did not make that show but a couple of friends did and had a blast, there is a all Camaro show first week in August at Selman Chevrolet in Orange Ca with over 125 Camaros all years and conditions, it was a good show last year!

Is that the Chevy dealership right off of Chapman Ave.? Right off the 55 freeway? If so, I know where that dealership is. Thanks for the heads up!

Maybe next year we could make more of an effort to organize the first gen Camaro owners and see if we can get a "Camaro corral". Might be cool to have the Camaro owners in one spot. Just an idea

For sure. I knew of at least one other guy who had a totally unmolested 6 cyl Camaro that couldn't make the show. He was there with his kids but didn't have time to bring his car. Not sure if you saw the red 68 RS that was closer to the south end with the tinted windows but I talked to him last year. He's a Temecula resident as well.

Great find. You can see our four Camaros in the second picture of the slide show on this page. You can see the 68 6 Cylinder, the Woodie, Jack's 69 Z, my 67 SS RS, and the 67 SS RS clone.

I wouldn't mind handling it. I know a reliable and reputable screen printer locally. I wouldn't mind handling the shipping either. If Steve wants to mail me the design I can get a few dozen printed up fairly quickly and handle the orders directly through my site. I own a web development firm so I do this stuff every day anyway.

Saw a CRG member wearing one of these shirts yesterday at a local car show...are there any still available for purchase?
