General Discussion / '69 Camaro pre production prototypes & pilot cars ?
« on: August 16, 2018, 12:20:44 AM »
I posted this pic here before, but I don't think there was a answer. what is the story on this one ? SS with Z stripes and looks like a Z/28 emblem on the left front fender. a prototype, or pilot car ?

with the knowledge base here, some one should know the answer.

looks like a official GM photo.

Here are a couple of shots of the Fisher way cool  8) '57 Chevy, I think I found those on the "Remembering Mosport" Facebook page ?  (no credit for the pics)

Thanks Jon for that link to the article on Fisher from the Canadian source. Here's a photo of Craig Fisher (in truck) and Jerry Schwarz from the '68 Continental Divide Trans-Am. Also Craig is seen in the Firebird circa July '68.

photos from Craig Fisher's personal collection

Looking at the cars in the background, I would guess '80s  ?

Radical kustom Camaro, looks to be a '69   ::)

Oldtimer, thanks for posting the TODCO item and the others, that is neat stuff !

The two links in your last post for the race Press Kit & the Penske Javelin item aren't working for me   :(

SMKZ28, here is a link to my photos from the '68 Trans-Am race, and program, signed by Revson, Donohue, Penske and Titus amongst others.
Big thanks !! to Jon who posted them for me, before I figured out how to do so, I didn't realize how long ago that was  ::)

SMKZ28, thanks for posting ! that brought back some memories I was at the T/A races at Tremblant from '68-'71. And a couple of those Can-Ams as well.

Mike, in Canada

I looked through the thread, but I can't remember if I had posted this photo before of the Chaparral Camaros waiting in the rain at the Dallas race 1970.

In the first image in this repost of Jon from Jan. 23rd. 2012, that looks like a Iso Grifo (327 Chevy power) in the show room at the left of the Corvette. Note that the ad copy says, "other high performance vehicles"

Here's a colour chart for '64 Cadi's, they offered a green in "Fire Mist & Fire Frost" through '67 and beyond.

Google Cadi Colour charts for various years, I didn't want to post them all here.

Once again, colour reproduction is not the best, and I'm sure some of these charts are faded.

Here's a pic of that slot car I mentioned in my last post.

First happy Thanksgiving day !

Don't want to divert the thread, wondering why the "Green" '67 Camaro changed colours during the '67 season. Later in the year the car is a dark colour with no stripes, I only have B&W pics.

In '68 the car is dark (is it Green ?) with white stripes, Jon had posted a photo of the car at Kent. Is this the '67 car skinned as a '68, side markers, no vent doors ?

I have seen a slot model of the car,  the Sebring '67 colours are reversed.

Not sure about the accuracy of some results on the net, some on "Racing Sports Cars"  I have these, I think Jon might have put them up here somewhere at some point. Not sure about Kent at the bottom of the list, two different events ?

Found this Traco intake and comment on the net.

I'm surprised that Robert (oldtransamdriver) hasn't commented yet ! That's his Camaro, the ex Mo Carter '67 Z on display at a mall, in the post # 315 above by 1109RWHP.
