Decoding/Numbers / Re: VIN Code help

I am seriously considering it. It has some good points and some horrible problems. The trunk was patched with tin screwed in over the holes then badly stick welded and then covered with some awful tar like anti rust coat. The new owner gave up after half cutting all this out with a sawzall. It has had one full quarter put on and one patch. The new quarter looks like it was laid over parts of the old one. I'm thinking full trunk pan, two new quarters, floor pan (or one driver patch and one rear passenger patch) and rear valence/tail light panel replacement. The car from the cowl forward including the cowl is pretty darn good.

Restored to stock I'm thinking it's worth $30,000 and I'd have $20-25,000 in it. Rare indeed to finish ahead on a restoration.

I think I wrote down L46 wrong. The other codes are funny Canadian ones. Like a code for extra gas. After I posted it I found the RPO PDF file on CRG.

Decoding/Numbers / VIN Code help

I'm looking at '69 Coupe VIN # 124379N553182 Data tag shows it's an HB code which I take to be 350-300hp L48 with a turbo 350. The data code was very hard to read with several coats of paint on it. I didn't see an X11 code on it and it was built 12/04/68 does that build date pre-date the use of "X" codes at the Norwood plant? It's was a rallye green car with black vinyl roof (79 B) currently painted black with no vinyl top. The car is semi disassembled but the block matches the car and the casting numbers on the heads seem correct. It has 12 bolt non-posi 3:31 rear end that I couldn't read the numbers on. It does have front disc brakes. The owner had some material going back to 1989 with some correspondence with GM. The options were A01, A82, B93, C08, D33, D55, F41, F62, G32, G94, J50, J52, K02, L46, M38, N34, PL5, U17, V13, V32, V48, W84, ZK8, ZQ7 (Canadian Warranty Material), Z22, Z27 and Z87.

It's being sold as SS/RS and it has the deluxe interior and the right running gear plus the hidden headlights are complete. It has an SS hood with proper grills. It's missing the proper cast iron intake and quadrajet but I don't think that's a big deal. To the experts here does this seem to be a decently option SS/RS? It's been sitting for 18 years in the guys garage with the motor out and the front sheet metal off.

One more note. It has a spoiler that looks stock but no D80 code is that possible?
