He, He!!

If it's not a "wing-window", it's a wannabe Camaro!

And fwiw, I tried to order my car w/ the 3-speed stick OD and couldn't back in Oct. '66.

One rearend that I would give my left nut to at least have the blueprints for is the '69 Couger Eliminator 2-speed hand shift rearend! Ford made like 6 or 7 cars w/ prototypes of it under them!!

It was made like a 12-bolt instead of a 9".  I want to say, "salisbury" design.

General Discussion / Viewing my car's spec's?
« on: November 27, 2009, 09:07:38 PM »
Where can I view my car's spec's that should be on file here?

I sent my papers in way back like about 2000 or so?

And was it of help coding the availability of the '66 car's options?

Jamie Passion is creating a new Muncie 5-speed so please contact them.

And there is a new MOPAR A833 5-speed out now that you might find interesting.

And A833's came stock in some of our mid '80's trucks.

I want to say that these are both 800 T trannys!

John's right or consider the little-bitty -097 Duntov cam here.

I DD it in my old junk301 for quite a while back then and it was a real hoot in the little engine.

Nowadays, I'd probably opt for an Isky Z-20 or the little Crower.

Or this one that's in my bedroom closet now.

A PAW PN 10341 ACTUALLY per the timing card spec'd at 280/246, 108/108, .498" gross lift and need's .030" hot lash on both sides.  I'm going to install 1.6 ratio rockers so it will be right at .500" net lift.

I'm going to shift the little short-stroke jewel at 8,000 just for the fun of it!

Any 64 cc head and either the .015" or .020" thick shim headgaskets will get you up to a stock very close to 10 to 1 CR so that you can run any number of great old 268/270/272 and even a couple of 274 hy-cams.

This effectively turn's the 210hp/327 into the 275 and 300hp/327.

My '75 454 P/U pan fit my car fine.

4-quart jobber and a quart in the can.

« on: November 27, 2009, 08:33:22 PM »
I wished I'd installed the cheap adjustable roundy-round car cans that Speedway sells and cheap short stiff coils and been done w/ it.

And if you do cut, cut from the top and install a bolt down at the bottom end so that the bottom pigtail seats against it.

I say top b/c the top is closer spaced than the bottom so you will have less overall drop.

4-core wide rad!

WOW, about as good as it get's!

It will cool a 496!

I installed a '66 Buick Special 4-core in my car back when I installed my hopped up .060" overbore 11.5 to 1 CR'd 409 "W" engine b/c I knew darn well my OEM 350SS rad wasn't big enough.

Had to hang it b/c it didn't have stock side mounts.  It's under my work bench b/c I have a cheap Summit/Northern Aluminum Rad wide 2-core hung in it's place to cool my 496.

Mild Modifications / Re: thinking about a modern 302
« on: November 27, 2009, 08:20:48 PM »
Back again,  I chased down a supplier of 6.25" long forged SJ rods so that I could use 6" rod, 350 pistons to make another junk301.

I just don't get why stock 302" and .030" and .060" overbore pistons are so scarce???

Heck, back in the day W/JCW sold el-cheapo, 1/8" overbore domed 283 cast pistons that I had in my junk301 for like $39.95/set along w/ cheap rings for like $5.00/set.  Badger or Simplex pistons?

Tom,

The today way to do this is to use a 400 block and install a 3" or a 3.25" crank in it and add a good set of free flowing aftermarket heads.

And I dearly loved my old junk301 up around 7,500 rpm!!
