General Discussion / Re: 427/425
« on: December 07, 2016, 05:18:45 PM »
Thanks for all the input and info about this car, i could share more about it but one of the members here went out of his way to locate it in an attempt to purchase even though i had interest in it. I learned from this that i should  not  be so revealing with the info about future finds. In the event that i wind up with it i plan to do a simple restoring just because i think it would be cool to have.

Thanks, but would this thing have any significant value to anyone? It is still in the car that was wrecked sometime in late 1970 to early 71 it has only 64,000 miles which is a lot in just a short life span.

If the owner (Jim) had not disrespected me I would continue to deal with them. I to am a small business owner and I know that you can't please everyone but you should not disrespect your customer.

I to have purchased many parts from them and have dealt with Jim on the nos parts, every thing went well until there was an issue with seat belts that were no where near correct. Dealt with Dave on these and these seat belts have more traveling miles on them than the car will ever have. When Jim got involved he was actually VERY rude to me and used some really bad language. The fact that i had spent over $9,000.00 with him meant nothing!  Will never forget that experience, my worst enemy could not have talked to me that bad. Long story short, got money back and additional 50.00 for my troubles. If you need seat belts deal with people who know seat belts.
Will not ever purchase from them again!

Maintenance / Re: muncie trans

Never had a shifter before this one so i can't say. The car shifts perfectly fine under normal driving conditions, but once you get into it and attempt to shift while the tires are still spinning in 2ND it will lock in 2ND when you attempt the shift to third. Once it does this you are stuck with coming home in 2ND gear or crawl under it on the side of the road.
To line up the shifter i used the plastic pin alignment that came with shifter, then after that i have used a 1/4 drill bit. I have checked alignment a couple of times. Maybe i should just drive it like someone with good sense.
Oh, the shifter came from Ground Up.
