thanks for the reply that is my plan, to have all the sheetmetal off shoot the edges. Put it all togrther and line everything up and shoot the rest of the car. Just wasnt sure you could or should sand off cleared overspray that gets on the tops.

Restoration / getting close to paint
« on: February 03, 2009, 01:00:27 AM »
I am working on my 68/rs and Im getting close to painting, I have heard of painting all of your edges and your jambs. Then putting your sheet metal on the car and block sanding any overspray that may have gotten on the suface areas. This sounds like a good system and it cuts the risk of scratching panels and doors when you put them on and line them up. My question is do you also clear the edges too? thanks sooooooo much for any help

Back in the early 80s  there was a tire I ran on the rear of my 69. On the side of the tire I believe it said formula 1 and it also had what was called a dog bone tread, the size of the tire was referred to as an N-50. does anyone know of these or have any info on them, not sure who made them thanks            SCOTT

I put one in my 68rs and had my drive shaft shortened, also you may want to look at Steves custom camaro web site, he has a conversion that allows you to use the stock horse shoe shifter and it comes with an upgraded shifter position window,               Scott

I just put a tuned port 305 in my 68 rs and its coupled with a 700r4. I was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas on an air cleaner set up. it has a mass air sensor so I cant just put an air filter on the front of the intake. Thanks for your help.

I have a fold down rear seat for a 67 (I believe its for a 67) and the side panels that sit on either side of it. the pack rats got to it and the cover is torn and some of the stuffing is loose. what is that seat and panels worth?
