It is not a good idea to turn a coupe into a convertible!
There is a lot of structural integrity to a convert to prevent it from folding up...Also the windshield A pillars are stronger in case of a rollover.....

That particular DF stamping seems like a later over the counter wheel.
perhaps the code is misread and is K12

The first digit is the model year of the radio
0=1970. So 8=1968, 9=1969, 0=1970, 1=1971, 2=1972 3=1973, 4=1974, 5=1975
The second digit is the car line:
1 = Chevrolet
2 = Pontiac
3 = Oldsmobile
4 = Buick
5 = Cadillac
6 = GMC
The third element is a letter which corresponds to the fisher body style the radio goes in:
A - Midsized: Tempest, Chevelle, Camaro, ChevyII, Acadian, Skylark/GS, [GTO not listed by Delco but is a Tempest or LeMans, GT37, T-37 Pontiac model radio]
B - Fullsized model: Bonneville etc.
C - More than full sized: Cadillac Fleetwood.
D - Rear control: Cadillac 75
E - Toronado, Riviera
F - Pony car: Firebird etc.
G - Grand Prix etc.
H - Subcompact: Sunbird etc.
L - Opel
T - Truck
TTC - GMC truck tilt cab
V - Corvette, sometimes the V looks like a Y ?
X - Compact: Nova etc.
Z - Corvair etc.
The next two letters indicate the type of radio:9/B]

FP - AM/FM mono

I'll try this again.
The '69 AM radio in this post has the same service model number-91APB1, and product number-7307311 that mine has. The serial numbers however are quite different- 11PAS-8239 on his and 11PBR-1260 on mine. Is this simply a serial number, a code to tell the difference between single and dual speaker models or just a build date? Have I overlooked a decode list on this site?

1 indicates the GM vehicle division: 1 = Chevrolet division. (2=Pontiac, 3=Oldsmobile,
A indicates the vehicle: "A-body". (mid-sized vehicle--Chevelle)
PB indicates the type of audio equipment: PB = AM pushbutton radio. (FP = AM/FM pushbutton, FM = AM/FM-stereo pushbutton, MP = Multiplex adapter, etc)
1 indicates this piece of audio equipment was apart of the first design run. This really isn't that important compared to the rest of the model number. If "2" had been the last digit, it would simply indicate Delco had made a change in the production of the same radio (such as an electronic circuit board revision) and it would have been apart of the second design run.

I'm not sure about the serial number,but i dont think it is anything but a serial number.

Freinds shop is working on a JH coded 1969 camaro
cowl tag is 07A
it has a 661 muncie side case.
Does this seem right?
over the phone he cant find the vin number on the trans.....he can see it..he just cant read it.
is an 06A car a late production? i'm not sure whats concidered late production for the 69 model year since they were biult well into 70.

Perhaps we may see some needed changes that are way overdue......
