Garage Talk / Re: Harbor Freight floor jack

China Freight has its plusses and minuses. For consumables, ya, no problem. For most tools, not really good for long term use but they are a bit better than they used to be. I'm guilty of owning a long breaker bar and some really long needle nose pliers..... you know, the tools rarely used but when you need them, they work ok.

Why does that V on axle code look like its been ground off, welded, smoothed, and stamped with the V on it? Hmmm.

Looking a 3rd time I think its wrong door panels with white paint on the top to help blend the door panel in. Look at how the door panels don't match the dash on the passenger side looking through the car in that one pic. Its a lot lighter. Relatively easy to fix, but howd it screwed up like that?
Cool car though.

I have Parchment in my '67.
Parchment has black carpet, dash, headliner, sail panels and rear package shelf.
Parchment door panels have black carpet on the lower part. Black paint on top of inner door where you rest your elbow while driving.
That looks like Parchment door panels with wrong paint on top with faded black carpet on the bottom or even gray.
Seat covers are gold or maybe even that rare yellow? Not sure.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Need help decoding this cowl tag
« on: March 31, 2018, 07:49:22 AM »
That's what I thought so someone added the multi leafs ! So is this car a Z or what is it ?
Not a Z28. It would have a 4L on the trim tag.
Looks like it was originally a 327 210 h.p. car, or, a 327 275 h.p. car at best.

I'm learning about tags also, I think something is funny about that tag too. Once you see it, it throws the whole car into question.
Other than the tag(possible) issue, nice car.

How far before the trim tag date would be acceptable? Mines an 04D.

Decoding/Numbers / These dates line up to 04D?
« on: February 13, 2010, 04:42:08 PM »
Hi all,
My 04d los car has a 'glide and 10 bolt in it, I did a few searches here, and over at T/C, but no exact answers, so here goes,

My 10 bolt axle is PK0320G2  - I get 3:55 non posi, but the cast date is L226. The 6 almost looks like an 8, depends on the light and angle you look at it. Is this o.k? I know if its an 8, then no way....(Shoulda wrote down the gear #s when I changed the diff fluid  ::) )

My 'glide has a code on the pan of T7A13N, which I get is Jan 13, night shift.

Do these line up to an 04D?

My engine is not orig, so I wont even bother.....

Thanks!
