General Discussion / main caps for a 69 dz block
« on: December 04, 2007, 08:12:35 PM »
i was wondering are all main caps for a dz block the same #? i have a early 386 block with #'s 2482 on 3 of them and the one up front has 3951 on it. one has GM 186,GM 51n,GM 83n,and GM50 n. my question is i have another dz block, this one is a 618 and i don't have caps for it. i found a set with the #'s 3412, i know they will work but are they possibly off a 350? or a 302? thanks frank

General Discussion / Re: 69 rsz28 master cylinder
« on: October 01, 2007, 12:00:22 AM »
i can be certain that this is a real RSz. it's a 2 owner car and the 2nd owner bought it in 71, drove til 76 and parked til now. i have talked to him personally cause i'm in process of buying. the original #'s matching block comes with car, hugger orange w/black stripes and top, it has a replacement 307,283 in it now, maybe thats why the radiator and master cylinder are different, theres so many questions i hate to keep calling him, he's very different. i have alot of pics and would like to post them but the car's not mine, when the deal is final i will post them, thanks for all the help! (i think the car is a rare find).

i just want to look into everything before i buy. the car is a early rs z28, that sat for 31 years, has original #'s matching block. it has the narrow spoiler on trunk that was finished up from  68. for as long as this car sat i do believe it to be real, it has bracket on rear frame rail etc. etc. would you worry cause it don't have the original radiator and master cylinder?? thanks

Is it possible for a 69 rs z or a 69 z28 to have any other master cylinder than the 309. The 309 is short and fat where other ones that i have seen claim to be real z's have the tall and skinny ones, could somebody please help me figure this out.  thanks frank.

General Discussion / connecting "pink" rods question
« on: June 12, 2007, 12:07:51 AM »
I supposably got a set of pink rods, are they all supposed to have the number "386" on them? on the bottom of the rod they all have different cast #'s  (264,212,265 ect.ect) of course there are no pink on them anywhere. they all have GM on them does that matter on telling if there the real deal or not? whats the best way to know if there a real set for a 69z 302? they all do have the raised cast letter O on the caps. thanks for all you guys help.

I could post #'s to see if it was ever recorded, but not sure if thats a good idea. I'm tring to find all info I can on my car. I bought car in Hershey, Pa about 5 yrs ago. I was told it was always a Pa car. if anyone has any info on my 69 fathom green w/white stripes car would be appriciated. thanks
