Restoration / NOS Body Parts
« on: March 07, 2007, 06:48:19 PM »
Where is the best place besides E PLAY to find real NOS body parts? What is the going price on a front fender for a 68?

I am looking for a standard right front fender(non RS)

Or should I get a used original part? Any suggestions on that?

Thanks
frank

give it time and it will go up in value-supply and demand always control the market.

I have Grundy on my 5 classics no problems.
Click is 100% dead on with the agreed /replacement cost-Ask Your Agent and See for yourself  :o
i just had a friend whose car was stolen and recovered only the shell-his regular ins company only paid him on maket
adjustment rate at time of loss for a bondo bucket in the auto trader.
I asked my friend who is a auto claims field adjuster and he says it is true.I also asked a auto claims company owner and he agrees also-you need speciality coverage.
Protect what you worked so hard for  ;D

Post the cowl tag numbers and that may help ID the car better and the rear numbers if you have them.

Originality / Re: camaro with a slide back sun roof
« on: February 15, 2007, 04:41:21 AM »
There were factory sunroofs installed, but only on European assembled 68 Camaros.
None made or sold in the US.

Very interesting-I would have never thought it

Hi Paul,
Heck if you read this auction the guy is a out for the money because he claims last one sold for just under $200 so his must be worth that or more.
Sounds like BJ auction price to me - shilling :o
What about the preservation of the classic car.

General Discussion / Re: Barrett-Jackson lawsuit

I just found this post.
I had a recent experience with a Palm Beach FL 66 vette that a customer bought to me for a "check out".
He was not a car guy and wanted a 66 vette bb 4 spd badly, had the cash and bought one,but knew the car was not running right
when he picked it up at the erminal in Orlando.
He bid on a car which was photo catalogued and in printed material as a numbers matching recreation 66 427 Vette..
It was far from numbers matching.Cross drilled rotors, demon carb, msd, lakewood bellhsg, china wire wheels, oil dripping from side pipes ect-you get the picture.
Long story short Gary Bennet contacted me,I sent photos to him and car was "returned". Fed x transport picked up and was now
sent to Scottsdale AZ for resale ? Maybe one of those personal B-J cars.Don't know.
The owner paid $140 k for this modified car !!!
Sounded like shill bidding to me too.
Its a shame this auction venue has gone bad as it will effect all of us as the owners and collectors of all cars from the past. :'(

I think the info you have tells the story.
I do not think a Camaro would have had a roof product from outside the US installed by a dealer.
I do not think GM would warrant that product either.
More likely aftermarket by a customizing shop or upholestry shop.
Sorry  :(

It's probably going to be moved to a more obvious location soon, but at the top of this page is a Julian calculator.

What about some stickys for this info or a catagory for them?
what do you think Ed and Kurt
Thanks
