General Discussion / Re: Car show judging

John,
It was good to be parked next to your real Z-28 at the last two car shows.   I agree with the common thread above.  We go to our local shows and pay our $25 and up for registration in hopes of taking home a $10.00 trophy...only to be outjudged to a clone...kind of ironic huh.  You have the nicest real 69 Z I have seen.  I am going to keep my regular breed 327 2bbl Camaro original and it will stay that way.  I'll just keep going to go to the shows to meet other owners and revel in the Camaro camaraderie.   On a side note, it's interesting to search the web auctions and other sites for 69s for sale to see so few original regular breeds as apparently most are being turned in to Z-28 and COPO clones...therefore mine must be getting rarer by the day.

cheers,  Greg

I have the 69 Service manual and the Wiring Diagram manuals.  I an going to buy the assembly manual next.  Is the Fisher Body manual a good one to have?  I am thinking of getting that one as well.   Thank you all for your inputs...this has been a big help.

The weather stripping in the photo above is identical to the one on my 69.  It is also quite different from the weather stripping at the cowl to hood.  I have looked in several catalogs and since called Rick's.  That part is no longer being reproduced...I'm interested in your other ideas on close matches...

Thanks all for the good info...this is the best Camaro group forum out there.  The fan shroud sticker comes off tonight.

Ed,
Yes it does have factory air.  Thanks for that info and quick reply.    Looks like I am out to buy the assembly manual and Fischer Body manual.  As far as the declas go, I just want to add the proper ones under the hood.  The emissions decal on the air cleaner cowl, if it is supposed to have one, the Harrison evaporator box decal, and fan shroud caution decal.  Others in question that are not under the hood are the tire pressure decal inside the driver's door, "astro ventilation decal"  and others.  I will start with the manuals referenced in the replies.

Again, thanks much...

Greg

Originality / 1969 Under hood weather stripping and decals
« on: September 15, 2006, 07:02:58 PM »
I have a 69 327/210 hp.  There is weather stripping under the hood in front of the radiator as well as around the windshield cowling.  Was this standard or did someone decide to get fancy?  I am the fourth owner.  Spring loaded "t clips"  for lack of the correct name hold the weather strip in place.  Replace the weather strip or remove and live with the holes is the question?

2nd question...is there a source that gives accurate info on under the hood decals and placements for the non-Z28 & SS models?

thanks,  Greg

I have one of the early model California made 69s 327/210 hp; 2Bbl small bore Rochester carb. 77900 original miles. It has mono leafs.  Don't know if this helps much but a sample of one.

cheers,  Greg
