The trunk facing part of the divider was the same brown color as the front sans the yellow markings correct?

If it was a restamp it was likely done when the car was restored. Pre-1994. But other than the K which is suspect I think the rest of the stamp looks correct. Am I way off?

This is a 386 block. I’m not sure if the K is stamped over a 0,1 or 2. Or in place of. I’m pretty sure aside from this that the rest of the stamp is legit.

Update. 386 block with a cast date of “1” or “I”.

Has anyone ever seen a DZ block stamp with a letter K for the month? V1K. I don’t have a pic unfortunately. Puzzled.

Thanks a lot Charley!

One of them is pretty bent. And they don’t seem to have the number of winds of an original set. So I think they are a replacement set. I would post a pic but I currently have no photo hosting.

Originality / 69 Z28 Coil Springs. Is there a physical difference?
« on: May 19, 2021, 12:38:54 AM »
I have been reading thru the posts trying to understand what type of spring is required for my car. Based on what I have calculated with the GM Spring Chart. I think my car, Z28, no special exhaust, no power steering, no spoilers, no RS would be a YF coded spring. Now the tricky part. Seems the Moog 6308s that everyone likes are not available. Springs in general seem to be hard to find. But I have a lead on an original used set. But I am trying to figure out how I would tell if they are the right ones for my car. So from the subject. Are there physical differences, markings other than the tags that would indicate which of the 3 options this used set might be?

Steve. Wondering what front spring tags were on this car?

Check out the '69 Camaro Assembly Manual, Section J52 page A1. The front hub, steering knuckle and other parts were received as an assembly in production.

Standard J52 cars received assemblies #3954867 & 3954868. "RPO Z28" received 3954869 & 3954870. In my experience, std. parts had green stripes, Z/28 had pink, like connecting rods. May indicate Z/28 components had additional processing, such as shot-peening or crack checking.

Just a theory. Never saw markings on rotors.

Additional processing? Maybe that’s it. Only one of my rotors has the stripe. Other one does not. The one with the stripe is drilled out, balancing? Other rotor with no stripe is not drilled.

I can’t seem to post pics right. Hopefully the link worked.

Wondering if anyone has ever seen this red stripe before? I’m rebuilding my front suspension.
