Originality / Re: Original tires
« on: March 02, 2017, 11:52:10 PM »
Have you checked that spare for a DOT date code??  if so, what is it?  Does it predate your car's build?
This was 25 years ago,
I don't know about the DOT code as it was not the same as we know today. I have YU written down in my documentation. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is May? on an late June car

The standard tire would have been an F70 x 14 RWL. Could be Goodyear WTGT, Firestone Wide Oval, Uniroyal Tiger Paw. Only the Goodyear is available in repro and is the safe choice.

Optional was PL4, FG belted RWL F70 x 14 [Goodyear Polyglas one possibility], PW7 white stripe F70 x 14 and PW8 red stripe F70 x 14.

Still, no known documented '69 Camaro built with Goodyear Polyglas.
when I got my 69, the spare was a polyglas. the original owner, my parents, said it had never been replaced.

Where was your engine assembled? Being that pump is Tonawanda cast, although parts went back and forth, it is more likely to have been on a Tonawanda block.

Were the yellow light radios coded the same as the 69's or would they have the 70 part number?

If I am not mistaken
They attach to the last hole on the intake on the passenger side, with the hole facing the firewall, and the second hole on the intake on the drivers side.
all of my bolts were the same , all have the same head stamp
they are similar to these:

I am confused by two of the options listed:
Where are the front bumper guards?
Stripe Delete? how do you delete an option that doesn't exist on that trim level?

what is 19kxxxxxx? That partial vin makes me suspect that part that it is on is from a different car. Something just isn't right with the engine stamp either

generally, I believe you should be looking for either a D9, E9, or F9. What is the date of the starter? Distributor? the Carb should be closer to these dates as they were installed during the vehicle assembly and not at the engine assembly plant

Do you know which plant built your SS? My delivery date is very close to your broadcast sheet. I have a SS 350 Auto as well with a engine assembled in late May(E). Original carb - from carter- is dated E9

Kurt
Do you know when the change happened from the smaller humped bushing mount to the fingered mount? Was there a safety reason for the design change or was it in prep for the 70 model year?

x33- if you need new ones, you should look at the '68 bushings. The 69 will usually be for the "fingered" brackets for the 13/16 sway bar

I ended up making my own, using the original as a template

It looks like the add is listed in the wrong area. I was looking at the header. You are correct, the map shows just outside of Alburquerque
