Restoration / Re: Dash Panel Replacement now the Vin??

Looks great! That’s a much better way to do it than riveting your VIN into the incorrectly shaped cutout.

I have an original POP from a 1969 convertible, 124679N520415, with some pretty special options, hoping the car still exists. Sold in the Metro Detroit area to the first owner in Dearborn, MI.

Great cars! Is that RS/SS Sequoia Green?

I disagree that a NOM Z/28 has no additional value due to the non original engine. The market says otherwise.

Very cool find, Joe. How odd to see the RS and Z grille emblems together.

Seems we've only scratched the surface on remaining '68 Z/28s. Hard to believe my car (N347960) is still the second earliest build on this list!

On FB, in Saginaw, MI.

Looks like it belongs to a Fathom Green Z that went through Barrett Jackson a few years ago.

Thanks, I’m familiar with this thread but it didn’t address the questions I’d asked.

Decoding/Numbers / 3908391A Pitman Arm
« on: June 11, 2023, 09:55:54 PM »
Hi everyone,

While cleaning my garage I found a 3908391A pitman arm still attached to the manual gearbox, from a 1968 Z subframe assembly I bought years ago from a guy doing a pro-touring front suspension. Is this pitman arm the same for power and manual steering applications (I believe the spline diameter is different, correct)? Can anyone help with market value estimates? Thanks!

Restoration / Re: Amber light radio question for the experts

I have had maybe a half dozen of the late amber light stereos. All are identical to the earlier blue light models with the exception of the stereo indicator color, and possibly the assembly part number.

Wow, thank you for that! Definitely do not have one of those in the garage.

I came across a pair of 1970 vintage Konis with part number 80-1217. I can’t locate this number in any vintage or modern Koni catalog I’ve been able to find. If anyone can assist I’d sure appreciate it!

If they are old 200S wheels they are likely 3.25” backspace which will never fit a stock first gen rear wheelhouse. I would go the old school route and raise the rear with rearched springs - that’s probably your best bet to clear that wheel offset. Good luck!
