General Discussion / Re: A First Generation Camaro LEGACY ?

I don't have a nickle in this but have been wondering something. I don't know Jerry, never met him but I think he does his evaluations as a business. He looks at cars for the current owner's benefit. Why would he volunteer to give up his data base for all to see? Wouldn't that be a conflict?

Sounds VERY ambitious. I usually do my thinking like this while riding the lawn mower. It would certainly help someone that WANTS to be honest about their car. But are there that many out there. Most have no idea what or why we care. I have even been told you can make any car a Z or big block no one can tell. I would applaud the effort and do whatever I could to help but with 20,000 real cars I think it a monumental task.

Sorry, I forgot the 350 was large journal.

'67 engines were small journal, no 4 bolt main. Did you check the engine stamp?

My cousin had a black with parchment '67 equipped almost exactly like that. Both pretty unusual cars. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks. There was a red 302 marked car local. I only saw it once and there was snow on the ground. Rich kid only had it a short time, wonder where it is.  Memory ain't what it used to be.

I am sure it's been covered here before but when did they switch from 302 to Z-28 emblem?

I would think it's hard enough to get top dollar for one car let alone two.

Gary W. , you brought up something I was going to ask. If they went to so much trouble why would they miss the date by so much?

I like the black stripes, not a fan of body colored rally wheels. Any documentation that it came that way? Not a doubter, just asking.

The one in the video appears to not have the 350 emblem on the lower front fenders. Were any others built like that?

New car introduction was a big deal back then. I remember very well when Bonanza ran the whole show without commercials so they had about 10 or 12 minutes at the end to show off the new models.

In March it will be two years for me, need to have the other one done SOON. No pain pills, no bruising, no rehab, did exercises at home for a month and was good as new. Hope yours goes well for you.

Wan't there a thread about this about a year or two ago? I seem to remember quite a few different tape lines on original cars.
