Decoding/Numbers / Re: Clutch Fan Identification
« on: July 11, 2023, 05:21:30 AM »
My understanding is cars with the C60 air conditioning received the clutch fan. I have seen a date stamp on the clutch portion where yours has numbers stamped. My 11A LOS car with AC also has the clutch fan. Wish I could tell you more information.

I have a 67 RS/SS convertible with mostly original paint and the car seems to not have the side pinstripe. Did ALL RS/SS cars get the side pinstripe as well as the accent band at the front?

Thank you all. It confirms that I should have an alternator dated end of October 1966 and helps me greatly. I'll continue my search. Not a huge issue as the car is running currently with an aftermarket alternator, but having the more correct one would be ideal.

The car was on Craigslist in Washington State near Portland. It needed motor, some floor repair. We passed on the car based on not agreeing to price. Car may still be for sale. He also had no title which makes it difficult to import into Canada.

Restoration / 1100750 alternator build date
« on: August 08, 2022, 05:56:15 AM »
I am looking for a 61 amp alternator for a 1966 first week of November built Camaro with AC. I see a fair amount of rebuildable cores dated 6 (1966) from January to June then none until end of November. I was thinking 2-3 month build date prior to November 1966 is what I need.
Any idea if these alternators were only built  certain months of 1966?

That covers the bumble bee stripe. What about the side hand pin stripping from front fender-door-rear quarter panel.

I found the aftermarket breaker from the parts supply store was too generic. Original only had 3 prong connectors on it. I followed the wiring diagram. 1 has 12 volt power, 1 feeds the power windows, 1 has power when ignition is switched on. The power from the 30 amp breaker on the firewall splits into 2 power feeds. One for the power top. One for power windows. The power top switch functions without the ignition on and the power windows require ignition on to make the windows function. Probably a safety feature. Problem solved. Incorrect aftermarket relay. Thanks

I know I'm ages late with an answer. I found that one of the screws I installed to hold the deluxe interior rear seat panel on the drivers side had pierced a wire in the rear turn signal harness and grounded out the signal switch. I repaired the wiring in the rear seat and installed a new turn signal switch and problem solved.

Restoration / Re: 67 RS Oil Gauge and Warning Light
« on: April 23, 2022, 09:14:27 PM »
My understanding is either the engine had an oil pressure sending unit and an idiot light in the dash cluster, or it had an oil line fed through the firewall and mounted to the back of a gauge. In this case the sending unit was removed and a fitting installed in the block to accept a compression fitting.

Hello, I'm restoring a 67 convertible, doing the wiring with new harnesses from American Autowire. I have the power top working correctly and the 30 amp breaker on the firewall. All factory parts.
I have the power windows set up as in all wired at switches, motors, circuit breaker under dash driver's side. There is a 3 prong harness connector that plugs into the breaker.
This leaves empty 2 spades from the breaker unaccounted for wiring.
I'm guessing the under dash breaker needs to get power  (?) from somewhere and I need an accessory harness.
I have looked everywhere for information without success.
Any help would be appreciated

General Discussion / Re: 67 rare convertible nos quarter panel
« on: February 07, 2022, 06:03:30 AM »
My understanding is sometime around 05C the telephone receiver shape was changed to the different style. The stamping dies would wear out and as they were tooling for the 68 production changes, the indent shape did not matter. I know at one point Heartbeat City had the correct receiver shaped 67 convertible quarter panels. I bought a set. They fit perfect but pricey. I think they were produced from GM dies. Other than the HC quarter panels, all others I've seen have the new indent shape, even most NOS quarters, unless produced prior to around end of May 1967.
