Just recently purchased this car.   i knew it had a CE block but i know nothing else about them.  What was the general process of these.  I can see remnants of a 3 and 4 on the pad.  What is your thoughts?  Thanks

When free time comes along (very rarely) at work I like to cruise around on craigslist, sometimes coming across things of possible interest to those out there.  I know you guys like to keep a database of cars when pictures of vins are posted and discuss them.  By no means am I making any judgement on this car one way or the other.  Enjoy

Maintenance / No fire to the plugs
« on: May 16, 2014, 03:57:14 PM »
Ok here goes-my trade is construction-not mechanics-but know a little just to be dangerous so don't give me too much of a hard time.  Purchased a 69Z-has not been cranked in at least 12 years.  Changed plugs, wires, fluids.  Motor turns but not firing.  Pulled plug and watched as somebody turned motor and no spark on plug.  Changed coil.  No fire.  Next step I assume is inside distributor?  What direction do I take?   Thanks

Decoding/Numbers / Paint decode for 69
« on: March 31, 2014, 03:56:33 PM »
I just recently purchased a 69 Z 28.    The stamp calls for it beings as follows:   52   52PNT      So this means the car was garnet red top and bottom from what I research.    But this car has a black vinyl top.    Shouldn't there be a B next to the 52 denoting it.    The car was repainted years ago to a different color and perhaps they added a vinyl top but I cant understand why.   I have no protecto plate or any other info with the car.     Would there be any chance that the factory may have stamped it wrong?   Or is it safe to say that a previous owner added the vinyl later on?   thanks for any input
