General Discussion / Barrett Jackson
« on: January 27, 2024, 10:20:15 PM »
I assume many of us are watching at least some of the Barrett Jackson auction.  Just watched a 1969 ZL1 go for $450,000?  Even with a replacement engine I would expect a bit more than that.  Any thoughts?

Interesting auction for a display piece on Bring A Trailer.  A Jerry MacNeish certified original cross ram manifold mounted on an engine for display purposes.

General Discussion / Fuel Delivery
« on: October 07, 2023, 10:43:48 AM »
I understand that Chevy always wanted the Corvette to have the highest horsepower ratings when compared to their other vehicles, and that Corvette was considered to be a sports car.  I find it interesting that Chevy was using somewhat "exotic" fuel injection and multi carb set ups in Corvettes in the 50's and 60's. Fuel injection in the Corvettes stopped in 1965 when big blocks started, and Chevy started using tri power carbs in the higher horsepower big blocks from '67 to '69.  Is horsepower rating the only reason that first gen Camaros were never factory delivered with some type of multi carb system?

I know it isn't the best photo, but can anyone give an opinion on if this is a restamp?

General Discussion / Original Drive Train Cars
« on: June 04, 2023, 07:46:14 PM »
In the spirit of matching numbers, original/born with drive train, and such, I'd like to start a discussion on 1) Is it proper to call a car "Matching numbers" if the block/trans/rear has been restamped to match?  2) Is it me or does it seem that there are very few original drive train 1st generation Camaros (especially Z28s) as compared to original drive train early Corvettes?  Any thoughts on why that is?
