Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted anything on here, so here is something I don't know if it's normal, or something isn't wired quite right....

I was checking the lights on my 67 RS/SS this morning, getting it ready for the season, (here in Minnesota it's kind of late this year) everything seems to be working ok...signal lights, tail lights, brake lights, headlights etc. with different combinations using them, but when I turned on the hazard flashers they work alone, front flashes normal, rear ones work normal, but when I turn on the headlights, the front ones flash in unison like they should, but the rear ones flash alternately from side to side.  But only with the lights on.  Not a big deal, but is this the way they are wired in 67?  I remember other later cars with side marker lights (turn signals) flashing alternately from front to side, but never noticed this before.   As a side note, the rear bulb sockets were replaced at one time as the old ones were problematic.  I wonder if they were not wired right?  I think I might leave well enough alone as I guess it really doesn't bother me.  It only happens when the lights are on and hazard flasher on.    :)  Leon in Mn.

General Discussion / Your "twin" Camaro. Is it possible?
« on: February 23, 2016, 07:24:44 PM »
Is it possible to have a "twin" Camaro, meaning having the same serial number but one from the Los plant and one from the Norwood plant?  I know it would be different options but was wondering if any of you knew of your matching serial number Camaro from the other plant?  I would be curious to know what options were ordered on the other one.

Maintenance / I always wanted one of these!
« on: June 10, 2015, 10:53:50 PM »
No, its NOT another car, but something kind of cool, well for me anyways!  If anyone is interested in getting the radiator drains that the "ears" point in the direction of the engine, look at the older model John Deere tractors.  I have one I'm parting out and lo and behold here is the radiator drain that everyone says to be "correct?" for my 67.  Most of the repos point in the wrong direction.  This one even has the number "94" on one ear and the "W" in an enclosed hexagon on the other, which I read somewhere to be correct..    This was on a John Deere 2640 if interested.  Opinions please?  It works for me.  For some reason it "forbids" me to post any pics of it.     Now to get the rest of that green paint off!

Originality / A question about the AM FM radio
« on: May 24, 2015, 02:07:24 PM »
Hey guys I have a question about my old AM FM Delco radio in my 67.  Right now there are two rear speakers mounted in there (someone mounted Kraco's back in the day) and one speaker in the front.  The front speaker must not be hooked up because its not working.  I'm assuming that this was a mono set up at one time?  There are no kick panel speakers.  The front speaker is there, but from what I can see it is not hooked up.  I cannot seem to find anywhere that there was supposed to be just one speaker in the rear or should there be two?  There are two cutouts for the speakers (trunk view)which appear original.  Since this would not be stereo sound, would they have still hooked up the one speaker in front along with the two rear?  Thank you for your help.

Decoding/Numbers / Words on back of sail panel (67)
« on: July 12, 2014, 02:39:12 AM »
In the process of removing my old headliner and sail panel material (and accumulation of a past mouse, or "mices" nest or two, I found the words "holes 100 pr" hand written on the back of one of the rear sail panels.  I'm thinking it meant "holes 100 pair'?  I wonder if they only punched holes in the sail panels of what they needed at the time for the courtesy lights to fit the cars with the deluxe interior?  Does that sound right?  I tried and tried posting the pic of it but it wont let me even though I saved it in photobucket with the link.  I did order the headliner with enough sail panel material and new visors to match from Classic Ind. and it matches the old ones perfect!   I did however have to order the insulation pieces from Heartbeat as CI didn't have them.  Roof underside looks great with rods etc.  Even the plastic clips are in great shape although I did order new ones.  A little touch up paint and some Lysol spray (for where the mice were) and it's ready for the install.  Even painted up the rods nice.  Might have to show pics somehow when it's all done if I can get them to send.

Well I need to replace my headliner due to age and the thread holding it getting rotten and coming loose in spots.  I've been putting it off too long and decided to finally go for it.  I'm thinking I should replace everything at once (visors, sail panels etc.) to get the colors to match and be done with it.  I will get someone with experience to put them in as I heard they can be a bugger!  What I am asking is if any of you could recommend any vendor that offers a good product that closely matches the originals as far as fit and finish, and fabric.  This is from my 67 396 with the black deluxe interior.  I'm not replacing the carpet or seat covers etc. just what I mentioned.  Is there any other pieces/parts I need to get for the installation?  I'm sure my installer would know too.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  I'm just not looking for an inferior interior!  Thanks.

Originality / 1100693 alternator. Need correct date for my car.
« on: March 10, 2014, 02:25:12 PM »
Hello again.  I am looking to get the correct alternator, 1100693, 37 amp. alternator for my 67 Camaro but was wondering about how much in advance was the alternator built before the final assembly date?  I have found many answers to this and am thinking it might be just a few weeks before?  How about up to a month before assembly?  My car was built the 3rd week of March, 1967.  With that date, I'm thinking it should read about 7C.  Possibly 7B? or would that be too early?  This is a BB car from LOS, so there is no ac., a 37 amp.
Thanks.

Decoding/Numbers / Paper tag found under carpet 67 Camaro
« on: February 20, 2014, 01:39:29 AM »
Hello again.  A while ago I found a strip of paper (or what seems to be half of it) under the carpet of my Camaro.  I measures 3 inches wide and has the date of March 14, 1967 on the end of it.  My car was built the last week of March.  I tried to post a pic here but cannot get it under the size JPG file to post here for some reason.  Not computer literate yet.  Anyways it says :

1967 F- Body Rear Ca???
2 D B/S
4 Slits
1070-T Black trentxxx??
7657058
Allen Industries xxxxx?
175 E. Millerville? Street
Compton, California

Would this be the date that the interior was made then sent to the factory for installation later?
It has the black deluxe interior if that means something.  Pics of the car can be seen in the "originality" forum under the heading "needing correct bumble bee stripe"  if interested.  Any ideas what this is?
Thanks

Originality / Correct 67 bumble bee stripe color
« on: February 09, 2014, 08:33:25 PM »
Hello everyone.  I'm new to this site trying to get as much info as possible to get my 67 Camaro up to as original as possible.  So, far it is very close to being a matching numbers car, with a few exceptions.  Some day in the far future, I would like to have this repainted, it is still the original paint, somewhat faded Madiera Maroon but at one time the front was resprayed due to a small collision and the nose stripe was not repainted.  I don't know what the nose stripe color should be as I have seen them in either the white or black online.  I haven't found anything showing the original color bumble bee stripe. .  It is a 67 RS/SS, Madiera Maroon, vinal top 396/325 hp. with 3 speed auto.  Also, I would probably just find the (stick on) stripes for now, then when I repaint it have the original stripes painted.  Can anyone help me?
