General Discussion / Endura Bumper Feedback
« on: November 23, 2017, 10:21:23 PM »
I know that it's been discussed before, but I don't recall seeing any feedback from anyone who tried to install the new(er) '69 camaro endura bumper from Heartbeat.  They say that it's made identical to the original.  I called over to Heartbeat and they say that they installed one and it's perfect.  I asked for pictures and so far - nothing.  I'm thinking that's not a good sign?

Originality / 67 BB frame mounts - question
« on: May 23, 2017, 12:38:25 PM »
I'm disassembling my 67 BB Camaro & noticed that the motor frame mounts are different heights - which they should be.  The problem is that the passenger side mount is higher than the driver's side mount.  My understanding is that the driver's side mount should be higher on first gens.  The distance from the cross member to the bottom of the bolt hole is 1.75" on the driver's side and 2.00" on the passenger side.  The mounts can't be reversed due to the small flange on the trailing edge.  Has anyone run into this before - or is it just time to replace the motor mounts?

Originality / 67 Camaro sequence numbers
« on: May 09, 2017, 10:48:59 PM »
Just disassembling my 67 4K car.  Noted the sequence number written on the inside of the front lower valence.  Is there a data base with these numbers in it?  If so, happy to forward the vin & body number.

General Discussion / Zone 14, Dealer 251
« on: March 16, 2017, 04:46:15 PM »
I received my NCRS report, but they weren't able to come up with the dealer name.  Anybody have info on Dealer 251 in Zone 14?

Thanks

General Discussion / 68 RS Z28 - opinions please
« on: September 21, 2014, 12:38:19 AM »
I spent some time with the owner of this car at a show today.  He says that it's original engine.  I haven't studied a lot of SB stamps.  What do the experts think?  It's a cool car - RS, factory cowl plenum, 42k original miles, factory docs., original panels.

1969 - Orphans / 9N665455

I was at a car show today and one of the participants mentioned that he had docs for a 1969 Camaro that he bought new.  Just thought that I'd post the VIN to see if the car is still around.

Originality / 1969 12 Bolt Vent Tube
« on: May 18, 2014, 06:59:24 PM »
This topic might be too far into the weeds, but is this the correct 1969 rear end vent tube?  I see them with green tops, black tops, etc.  This one appears as if it was all ivory or white color.

Originality / Original 1969 standard grille
« on: September 23, 2013, 04:31:17 PM »
I've tried to post this subject twice, but it didn't appear to show up on the discussion board.  I apologize if it's redundant or if it has been discussed before.  I was looking through some of my old parts stash over the weekend & noticed that the original grilles all had round ejector pin scars behind the rectangular cut outs in the grille.  In fact, a couple of the ejector pins must have been removed from the mold in one of the grilles, because a long plastic projection was left on the part where the ejector pin should have been.  I've always looked for the "bone" colored plastic to ID original grilles - is this another way of IDing them? ( i.e - looking for the round ejector pins?).  I don't believe that I have seen the round pins in that location on repro grilles.

General Discussion / Hemmings Muscle Machine of the Year
« on: September 01, 2013, 12:36:02 AM »
I just received the October copy of "Hemmings Muscle Machines" and noticed that my car is one of 13 nominated for muscle machine of the year.  It's the only Camaro in the hunt.  You can see it at www.hemmings.com/mmoy   .  If you like the car, I'd appreciate your vote.  Thanks,  Bruce

Originality / Leaf Spring code?
« on: February 09, 2013, 04:28:47 PM »
I decided to freshen up my '69 Pace Car for my winter project.  This car gets driven a lot, so the old resto is starting to show its age.  I was cleaning up the leaf springs and noticed a "GM" stamping with a "U" beside it on the main leaf.  Not sure if it's the original leaf spring or not - has anyone seen this before?  Is the "U" a spring code?  They are 5 leaf springs.
