General Discussion / FISHER BODY MEASUREMENT
« on: February 08, 2011, 01:48:55 AM »
I am quite sure that this may have been asked before, however, I had no luck searching for definitive answer.  I am trying to find out the rear frame rail spacing on a first generation Camaro.  The measurement I need verification on is the "K" dimension shown in the Fisher Body manual.  This measurement is taken between the inboard edges of the rear frame rails at the centerline of the rear shackle bolt hole.  The Fisher Body manual is showing 42 7/8".  I have found some information that stated that the Fisher Body manual is incorrect and the actual measurement is 43 7/8.  My project car has a dented and rusted frame rail, so I could not accurately verify this measurement.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

General Discussion / DYNACORN PART QUESTION
« on: January 20, 2011, 02:51:20 PM »
I posted this question on another site and did not get answer.  I hope that someone can help me out.

I recently purchased a Dynacorn convertible torsion bar chassis PN #1067X. In the Dynacorn catalog, (as well as the dealers catalog from who I purchased the part) the picture shows that the torsion bar chassis has the metal "braces" attached that rest on the wheelhouses and support the torsion bar chassis. My part does not have these. I contacted the dealer that I purchased the part from and inquired as to why my part did not have these braces.  They requested pictures, which I sent them.  I was later advised that Dynacorn informed them that the part I have is the way it was made and due to the fact that my part is different then what the picture shows, they would take it back and give me a refund... end of discussion.  If anyone is familiar with this part, could you verify that it does not come with the braces?  If part 1067X does not come with the "braces", does anyone know where I can obtain them?

I have attached a picture for clarification.

Thanks,
David
